Description
Antioxidants are among the most popular stories in modern skincare, and glutathione, often abbreviated as GSH, has become a recognized name for radiance-focused products. IO Antioxidant Serum Active Liquid is a liquid active whose name points to this theme.
Product data
Liquid, soluble in alcohol, water and glycerin. PH range 2.6 to 3.5 for the material. Lot documentation from the supplier gives the INCI, composition and recommended level. Use that document for the ingredient list and do not assume that the material is pure glutathione.
Working with an acidic material
The low pH of the material means it will acidify the formula. Add it during cool-down, then measure and adjust the finished pH with a suitable base. Check compatibility with thickeners: carbomers lose viscosity at low pH, so cellulose or xanthan are often better choices.
Product formats
Radiance serum
A light serum for a fresh, even-looking complexion.
Toner
A toning lotion that prepares the skin for serums. The alcohol solubility allows fresh, fast-drying textures.
Day cream
A cream that combines the antioxidant story with daily hydration.
Night serum
A concentrated evening serum.
Formulating guidance
Add the active during cool-down and adjust pH. Pair it with glutathione for a strong GSH story, with niacinamide for tone and with tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate for a vitamin C partner in the oil phase. More antioxidant actives are listed under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording: more radiant, fresher, more even-looking skin; antioxidant protection for the product or a cosmetic antioxidant story supported by the documentation.
Stability
Antioxidant materials can change color or odor when exposed to air. Use airless or narrow-neck packaging, minimize headspace and check color over time.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light. Monitor pH drift, color and odor.
Range planning
A radiance line with a toner, a serum and a day cream gives customers a simple routine with one recognizable active.
Batch quality
Record the lot number from the CoA, check appearance on arrival and keep retained samples.
Sun protection
Radiance and tone-focused products should always recommend daily sunscreen. Customers see better results and stay loyal to the routine.
Toner textures and alcohol
The alcohol solubility of the active allows fresh, fast-drying toners for oily skin. For dry or sensitive skin, keep alcohol low or omit it and rely on glycerin and glycols instead. Offering two toner versions with the same active lets the line serve both skin types. Test each version for tightness after drying, which customers notice immediately.
Who buys radiance products
Customers with a dull-looking complexion, city dwellers who want an antioxidant routine and anyone who likes the glow trend.
Packaging details
Choose airless pumps or narrow-neck bottles for serums and toners, and avoid wide jars that expose the product to air with every use. Amber or opaque materials add light protection.
Layering order
Apply the toner first, then the serum, then the day cream and sunscreen.
