Description
Glutathione at a glance
Glutathione is a powder that dissolves easily in water. It is a tripeptide, a short chain of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. In the body it is one of the main antioxidants, protecting cells from oxidative stress. The supplier specification lists gommages, moisturizing serums, brightening products, eye creams, gels, light serums, face creams and clarifying products. Confirm purity on the supplier CoA.
Why glutathione is popular
Glutathione has become a star ingredient in brightening skin care, especially in Asian markets. Brands use it in serums and creams for a brighter, more even and radiant-looking complexion. Its antioxidant role adds a second story: helping protect skin from the visible effects of environmental stress.
Product formats

Moisturizing serums

Processing
Dissolve the powder in a small portion of cool water and add it to the formula during cool-down. Glutathione contains a sulfur group that reacts with oxygen, so limit stirring that whips air into the product. It has a slight sulfur odor and a mildly acidic character in solution, so check odor and adjust the pH at the end.
Good partners
Niacinamide and vitamin C derivatives build a strong brightening package. IO Brightening Antioxidant Active Liquid adds vitamin C, and Alpha lipoic acid supports the antioxidant story. Other radiance ingredients are listed in the actives catalog.
Testing
Measure skin tone with a colorimeter over several weeks. Check odor and color of the product after storage at 40 °C.

Dissolve niacinamide in water, disperse the cellulose, add the humectants, cool, add glutathione dissolved in a little cool water and the remaining ingredients, then adjust the pH.
Packaging for oxygen-sensitive actives
Airless pumps keep air away from the product between uses. Opaque bottles block light. Together they help glutathione serums keep their color and odor through their shelf life. Avoid wide-mouth jars for this type of product.
Brightening routines
A brightening routine needs daily, otherwise new dark spots appear as fast as old ones fade.
Range ideas
A radiance serum, a brightening eye cream and a gommage can share glutathione as their headline active.
Lot records
Keep each CoA with the batch file and note the lot used.
Gommage formats
A gommage is a gentle peeling gel or cream that is massaged on the skin and rolls off with dead cells, without hard particles. It suits sensitive skin that cannot tolerate scrubs. A brightening gommage with glutathione offers a weekly radiance ritual that complements a daily serum.
Storage
Store closed in a cool, dry place. Close the container after use.
