Vegetamide 18MEA-NJ is a water-soluble liquid hair conditioner made as an ionic complex of green pea peptides with a fatty component modeled on 18-MEA. It is described as a liquid cuticle: a plant-based ingredient that rebuilds a smooth, protective surface on damaged-looking hair. It goes into the water phase during cool-down. The hair's protective layer
Healthy hair is covered with a thin fatty layer bound to the cuticle. Its main component is 18-methyleicosanoic acid, or 18-MEA, which makes hair water-repellent, smooth and shiny and helps strands glide past each other. Coloring, bleaching, perms, heat and sun strip 18-MEA, and hair then turns rough, frizzy and easy to tangle.
Restoring the surface
Vegetamide 18MEA-NJ brings back a similar surface. The pea peptides attach to the hair and the fatty part forms a water-repellent layer on top, so hair feels softer and silkier, tangles less and looks healthier. Its plant origin suits vegan and natural brands.

Add it to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until uniform. In conditioners and masks, use it with a cationic conditioner and keep the pH slightly acidic, around 4.5 to 5.0; in shampoos, add it after the surfactants.
