Description
Crodasone Cystine at a glance
Crodasone Cystine is a liquid hair care active from Croda. It dissolves in water and is added at cool-down. The supplier specification lists hair sprays and serums, leave-in conditioners, shampoos with a restorative function and styling products. The name points to cystine, the amino acid that gives hair its strength. Confirm the full INCI and dose on the certificate of analysis and the Croda technical sheet.
INCI, use level and solubility
The INCI of Crodasone Cystine is Hydrolyzed Keratin (and) Cystine Bis-PG-Propyl Silanetriol. It is a clear to slightly hazy, viscous yellow-amber liquid that dissolves in water and is compatible with surfactants. The supplier gives 1.0 to 5.0% for hair care products, 3.0 to 6.0% for serums and concentrates, 2.0 to 7.0% for leave-on cosmetic formulas masks and up to 10% in professional lines, in line with the manufacturer guidance.
Why cystine matters for hair
Hair is mostly keratin, a protein with a very high share of cystine. Cystine links neighboring protein chains through disulfide bonds, which give hair its strength and shape. Bleaching, permanent coloring, perms and frequent heat styling break part of these bonds, and hair becomes weak, porous and prone to breakage. Bond-care actives are designed to support the hair structure so strands feel stronger and more resilient.
Formats
Leave-in conditioners and serums
Leave-on formats keep the active on the hair and suit daily care after coloring or heat styling.
Restorative shampoos
Shampoos with a appearance support message can carry the active as part of a bond-care range.
Hair sprays and styling
Styling products stay on the hair all day, so they are a smart place for a strengthening active.
How to use it
Add Crodasone Cystine to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until uniform. In conditioners, add it after the emulsion has cooled. Keep the final pH slightly acidic, which suits the hair surface. Follow the dose from the Croda technical sheet.
Partners
Bond-care ranges often combine strengthening and protective ingredients. Hydrolyzed keratin PG-propyl silanetriol adds a film-forming keratin story, and SymHair Thermo brings heat protection. More hair concentrates are in the actives catalog.

Bond-care leave-in spray recipe, 100 g
Distilled water 87.70 g, Crodasone Cystine 3.00 g, cetrimonium chloride 1.50 g, glycerin 2.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g, hydrolyzed keratin 1.00 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.80 g, fragrance 0.30 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 1.00 g, propanediol 1.00 g, lactic acid solution 0.70 g. Dissolve the conditioner, glycerin and panthenol in water, add keratin and Crodasone Cystine, premix the fragrance with the solubilizer and add it with propanediol and the preservative, then adjust the pH to about 4.5.
Testing
Tensile strength tests on bleached tresses, combing force measurements and breakage counts during repeated combing are the standard tools for strength claims. Compare treated tresses with a placebo.
Consumer instructions
Spray onto clean, towel-dried hair, comb through and style as usual. Use after every wash, especially before heat styling. Visible strength builds with regular use.
Dose guidance
Follow the Croda technical sheet. Leave-in products usually need less than rinse-off products, since nothing is washed away.
Why bond care is in demand
Bleaching, balayage and frequent heat styling have made weak, breaking hair one of the most common hair concerns. Bond-care products became a large category within a few years. Consumers now look for strength claims on shampoos, masks and leave-ins, not only on salon services. An amino acid based active with a clear cystine story fits that demand and is easy to explain on the label.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from heat and light.
