Description
Epinutrix for hair from the oil side
Epinutrix is an oil-soluble liquid active for hair and scalp care, described in the supplier specification as an elm-colored liquid. It goes into the oil phase. The supplier specification lists shampoos and conditioners for restoration and moisture, masks and serums for deep nourishment and strengthening, leave-in products for combability and less frizz, and scalp lotions and tonics for a moisturized, protected scalp. Confirm the full INCI and composition on the certificate of analysis. The smallest pack is 0.33 oz (10 mL).
Why an oil-soluble hair active
Dry, frizzy hair has lost part of its natural lipids. Oils and oil-soluble actives replace that lipid layer, smooth the cuticle and help strands hold moisture, which is why hair oils and oil-rich masks give such a visible result. An oil-soluble active adds a functional story beyond the base oils.
Formats
Light hair oils and silicone-oil serums are the most direct format. Masks and conditioners take the active in their oil phase for a nourishing, smoothing effect. Leave-in creams improve combability and reduce frizz, and pre-wash scalp oils or lotions with an emulsified oil phase keep the scalp feeling comfortable.
Clear products
In clear shampoos and tonics, an oil-soluble active needs a solubilizer to stay clear and stable.
Processing and partners
Add Epinutrix to the oil phase of an emulsion, or mix it into an anhydrous hair oil at room temperature, and include an antioxidant such as tocopherol to protect the oils. Pair it with camellia oil as a light carrier and with Vegetamide 18MEA-NJ in the water phase of conditioners. Keramare adds styling protection. More hair actives are in our cosmetic actives section.
