Description

About this ingredient

IO Stretch Mark Care Active Liquid is an active supplied as a liquid concentrate for body care focused on stretch marks. Brands use it in products for areas where the skin has been stretched quickly, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs and chest, with the goal of a smoother, more even and more supple look. Our product record describes it as water-soluble and added during cool-down, with a mildly acidic product pH. The full INCI and active content are listed on the CoA for every lot.

Who buys stretch mark products

Stretch marks are common after pregnancy, growth spurts, weight changes and intense strength training. Buyers range from expecting parents to athletes, and most want an honest product that feels pleasant enough to use every day. They look for a named active, generous textures and realistic expectations.

Formats that work

A rich body cream for daily use, a concentrated serum for specific areas and a massage balm are the main formats. Pairing this ingredient with a firming peptide such as palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 and with IO Soothing Plant Active Liquid builds a well-rounded body system. Adding the concentrate

Finish and cool the body emulsion below 40 °C, then stir in this ingredient gently. Avoid reheating. Keep the final pH in the mildly acidic window noted in the product record and follow the CoA for the use level.

Texture for large areas

Body products cover a large surface, so absorption speed matters. A light lotion with a quick finish is used more often than a heavy butter. For massage rituals, a balm that melts on contact and gives a few minutes of glide works better. Many brands offer both and let the customer choose.

Products for the pregnancy market

Expecting parents are careful about ingredients. Keep the formula fragrance-free or lightly scented, avoid retinoids and essential oils, and state clearly that the product has been tested under dermatological control. Recommend that customers check with their healthcare provider if they have questions about any product during pregnancy.

Expectation setting

Changes in the look of stretch marks take weeks of consistent use, and newer marks usually respond better than older ones. Say this openly, show unretouched photographs and support claims with consumer perception studies on the finished product.

Massage and routine

Encourage customers to apply the product with a few minutes of circular massage after showering, when the skin is warm and slightly damp. The ritual makes the product feel more personal and supports consistent use, which is the main factor in any visible change in appearance.

Pairing with a body oil

Some customers prefer oils for massage. A brand can offer a light dry oil alongside the cream and recommend layering the oil first and the cream on top. Since this ingredient is water-soluble, it belongs in the cream, not in the anhydrous oil.

Packaging

Large pumps or tubes are practical for body care. Pregnancy and postpartum buyers appreciate one-handed use, so a pump bottle often works better than a jar.
