Description

About this ingredient

IO Moisture Care Active Liquid is a liquid active sold by the milliliter for moisturizing and appearance-focused cosmetic skin care. Supplier documentation lists its use in creams, lotions, serums, masks and gels for skin moisturizing, as well as in appearance-focused cosmetic and restorative products. Our product record lists it as water-soluble and added at cool-down. The full INCI and active content are printed on the CoA for every lot, and that document should be checked before naming any molecule on a label.

The sugar-based active story

Sugar-derived actives appeal to customers who like a plant origin combined with modern science. They are typically water-soluble, pleasant to formulate with and easy to explain: a plant sugar transformed into an ingredient chosen for moisture and a plumper look. This story fits both clinical and natural-leaning brands.

Product formats

Moisturizing day creams, firming serums, overnight masks, gel-creams and body lotions are all listed uses. This ingredient pairs well with High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid for surface hydration and with IO Firming Peptide Powder (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38) for a peptide layer. Processing

Prepare the base, cool it below 40 °C and stir in this ingredient gently. Avoid reheating. Keep the final pH mild and follow the CoA for the use level and any compatibility notes.

Mature skin positioning

Customers over forty often describe their skin as drier, thinner-feeling and less bouncy. A rich yet fast-absorbing cream with a sugar-based active, a humectant and a barrier lipid meets these needs. Present it as a comfort and resilience product rather than a dramatic transformation.

Masks and gels

Weekly masks give a quick sense of comfort and plumpness. A cushiony gel mask with this ingredient and hyaluronic acid, left on for ten minutes and then massaged in, is a pleasant ritual. Gels also suit customers with combination skin who dislike heavy creams.

Body care

Dryness is not limited to the face. A light body lotion with the same active extends the line for arms and legs, especially in winter when indoor heating dries the skin.

Claims and testing

Hydration and elasticity measurements on the finished product, together with consumer perception data over several weeks, support claims such as more hydrated, plumper-looking and more resilient-looking skin.

Compatibility notes

Water-soluble sugar-based actives are generally comfortable with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, peptides and most botanical extracts. Run stability tests at room temperature, at 40 °C and through freeze-thaw cycles in the final pack before launch.

Range planning

A resilience line could include a serum, a day cream and a weekly gel mask. Using the same hero in each product, with a consistent color code and a simple routine card, helps customers build a habit and come back for refills.
