Description

About this ingredient

IO Redness Care Active Solution is an active supplied as a ready liquid concentrate.Brands use it in cosmetic products aimed at a calmer, more even-looking complexion with less visible redness. Our product record lists it as water-soluble, added at cool-down and comfortable in an acidic pH window. The full INCI and active content are on the CoA for every lot.

The visible redness customer

Many adults with fair or reactive-looking skin notice a flush on the cheeks that becomes stronger with heat, cold, spicy food or exercise. They often feel self-conscious about it and use green-tinted primers to hide it. These customers want gentle products with short ingredient lists and honest expectations, and they appreciate brands that understand the problem.

Product formats

A lightweight comfort serum is the main format. Day creams with a soft finish, green-tinted base products, cooling gel masks and rich night creams are useful extensions. This ingredient pairs well with IO Soothing Plant Active Liquid and Niacinamide at moderate levels, and with barrier lipids for skin that also feels dry. More actives are in our peptides catalog.

Processing and pH

Prepare the base, cool it below 40 °C and stir in this ingredient gently. Avoid reheating. The acidic pH window in the product record is narrower than for many peptides, so measure the final pH carefully and adjust only with mild acids or buffers. Follow the CoA for the use level and any compatibility notes.

Color-correcting products

A green-tinted cream or primer gives an immediate visual result while the active supports the look of the skin over time. This combination of instant and gradual effect is persuasive. Use cosmetic pigments at low levels and test the tint on a range of skin tones before launch.

Lifestyle guidance

Triggers such as heat, hot drinks, alcohol and intense sun often make redness look stronger. A short guide on the product page, together with a recommendation to use daily sun protection, adds real value and shows that the brand understands the concern.

Sensitive-skin base design

Keep fragrance and essential oils out of the product, choose a mild emulsifier, avoid strong exfoliating acids in the same product and pack the formula in an airless pump. Customers with reactive-looking skin often react to the base more than to the active.

Claims and testing

Chromameter readings and standardized photographs on the finished product support claims about a less red-looking complexion. Use cosmetic wording such as visibly reduces the look of redness and for skin prone to flushing. Do not refer to skin conditions or vascular disorders, and suggest that customers with persistent concerns speak with a dermatologist.
