Description
About this ingredient
IO Renewal Care Active Liquid is a liquid active sold in milliliter packs. Our product record confirms that it is water-soluble and is added directly to the water phase during cool-down. The full INCI and active content are printed on the CoA for each lot; we recommend building claims from that document.
Renewal without harshness
Many customers want the look of fresh, smooth skin that exfoliating acids and retinoids offer, but they do not want the tingling or dryness that can come with them. Renewal-themed liquid actives give brands a gentler story. This ingredient can serve as the hero of a mild night serum or as a supporting active in a product that also contains a low level of a gentle acid.
Applications
Night serums, renewal creams, sleeping masks, gentle peel-alternative gels and essences are typical uses. It combines well with Bakuchiol in a plant-forward night routine and with Ultra low molecular sodium hyaluronate for hydration. Browse more in our peptides catalog.
How to use it
Finish the base, cool it below 40 °C and add this ingredient with gentle stirring. Avoid reheating. Keep the pH in a mild range unless the CoA allows otherwise. Follow the supplier documentation for the use level.
Night routine design
Renewal products are usually evening products. A simple routine includes a gentle cleanser, the renewal serum and a comforting cream with ceramides. Advise sunscreen in the morning if the routine includes any exfoliating component. Fragrance-free or lightly scented versions suit customers with sensitive-feeling skin.
Cost and dosing
Liquid concentrates are priced per milliliter, so calculate the cost per finished unit early. Multiply the use level by the batch size, add the cost of other actives, packaging and labor, and compare with your target retail price. A low single-digit percentage of a concentrate in a small serum bottle often costs less than expected, which leaves room for premium packaging.
Compatibility
Liquid actives of this type are generally compatible with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, ceramides and peptides. Avoid strong oxidizers and long heating. If combining with acids, check the final pH and comfort carefully.
Gentle partners for renewal products
Renewal products benefit from soothing partners that keep the skin comfortable: panthenol, allantoin, bisabolol and ceramides are all good choices. If you include a mild acid such as lactic acid, keep its level low and the pH moderate, and test comfort with a small panel of users who describe their skin as sensitive. ## Characteristics

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
