Description

About this ingredient

IO Smoothing Serum Concentrate is an active supplied as a ready liquid concentrate. Our product record lists it as water-soluble, added at cool-down and comfortable at a near-neutral pH. The full INCI, source and active content are listed on the CoA for every lot, and we recommend checking it before printing any plant-origin claim. A dry version, this ingredient, is sold separately for brands that prefer to dissolve the active themselves.

Liquid or powder

The liquid concentrate is the faster choice: no weighing of tiny amounts, no dissolving step and less risk of dust. The dry grade makes sense for large production runs or anhydrous concepts where water must be added deliberately. For most small brands and laboratories, the liquid is more convenient.

Who it suits

Customers over forty often look for products that combine comfort with a smoother look. A plant-inspired story appeals to buyers who prefer botanical ingredients and read labels for natural origins. This ingredient gives such a product a named hero without forcing the brand into a purely clinical image.

Product formats

Smoothing face serums, rich creams for mature skin, overnight comfort masks and supple-feel body lotions are the main formats. Pair the concentrate with Bakuchiol for a plant-based smoothing story, or with signal peptides for a more technical one. Explore similar actives in our peptides catalog.

Processing

Cool the emulsion or gel below 40 °C before adding this ingredient and stir slowly. Avoid reheating. The near-neutral pH window in the product record means it fits mild bases easily, and the final pH should stay in a skin-friendly range. Follow the CoA for the use level.

Mature skin and comfort

Mature skin often feels drier and less elastic, especially in cold months. A cream with a generous emollient phase, a humectant, a barrier lipid and a named active offers comfort and a visible softening of the surface. Keep fragrance light and choose an airless pack to protect the formula.

Botanical positioning done honestly

Plant stories are powerful, but they must be accurate. Name the source only after confirming it on the CoA, avoid implying that an active is a crude extract, and describe the product as plant-inspired where appropriate. Honest wording builds long-term trust with ingredient-aware customers.

Claims and testing

Measure hydration and surface smoothness on the finished product and combine the results with consumer perception data over several weeks. Use wording such as smoother-looking, softer and more supple.

Body care extension

The same active can carry into a body lotion for the arms, legs and decolletage. A light texture with quick absorption suits daily use after showering, and shared visual branding links the body product to the face cream.
