Description

A short profile of this ingredient

Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate Powder is one of the best-known names among expression-line peptides. Chemically it is a dipeptide derivative, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, CAS 823202-99-9, built to imitate a small part of Waglerin 1, a protein found in the venom of the temple viper. Nothing from a snake is used in production: the molecule is made synthetically. On this page it is sold as a white, dry powder by the gram, which suits brands that want full control over concentration and prefer to prepare their own peptide solution.

What it offers in a product

The peptide is small, water-soluble and easy to combine. Brands present it as an ingredient that helps the face look more relaxed and smoother where repeated movement leaves lines, particularly around the eyes and on the forehead. Because it is a pure active, a little powder covers many finished units, and the clear solution it forms does not tint gels. The story is easy for shoppers to grasp, which is one reason it appears in so many premium eye products.

Typical applications

You will find this ingredient in expression-line serums, crow's feet eye creams, forehead fluids, lip contour balms with a water phase, and light night creams. Many brands stack it with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Powder, which works on a different part of the same cosmetic theme, or with Pentapeptide-18 Powder. All three are listed with other dry actives in our peptide powders catalog.

Dissolving and adding the powder

Weigh the powder accurately, add it to a small amount of distilled water and stir until the mixture is completely clear. Add the dissolved peptide to the main batch during cool-down, below 40 °C, and mix gently. Avoid holding the finished batch at high temperature. The card does not state an use percentage; follow the CoA for your lot and remember that pure peptide powders are used at low levels.

Making a stock solution

Many labs prepare a stock solution so that daily weighing is easier. Dissolve a known weight of this ingredient in distilled water with a small amount of preservative, label the bottle with the concentration and date and keep it in the fridge. When you build a batch, you then weigh grams of solution instead of milligrams of powder. Check the stock for clarity before each use and discard it if it turns cloudy.

Compatibility

This ingredient is compatible with hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol, niacinamide, caffeine and other peptides. It suits gels, serums and oil-in-water emulsions with a skin-friendly pH. Strong acids, strong oxidizers and long heating are best avoided. If you combine several peptides, add them one by one and keep each within its own recommended range.
