Phase and temperature

Add it in cool-down, below 40 °C, with gentle mixing, and avoid long holds at high temperature. Add it to the water phase of gels or to cooled emulsions.

Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Read the INCI on the CoA before you write the label, because a blend can contain carriers such as glycols that must appear on your ingredient list.

Texture for the eye area

Eye products must spread easily without dragging the thin skin and must not run. A light gel with a thin polymer, or a soft cream with a low oil load, suits most eye products. Keep the formula fragrance-free or very lightly scented.

Product ideas

Hydrating eye gel, a cooling roll-on, a rich night eye cream, an under-eye patch essence, and a light day cream for the eye contour are all good homes. The same complex also works in lip serums and in neck creams.

Pairing ideas

Stability checks before scale-up

Run a small pilot batch first. Keep samples at room temperature, in a warm cabinet and in the fridge, and check color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH at set intervals over several weeks. Test the product in the final pack as well as in glass, because pumps, droppers and tubes can change how a peptide product ages. Write every observation into the batch record next to the lot number of the raw material.
