Description

The branded Syn-Coll solution

Syn-Coll is the trade name of a glycerin-based water solution of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, a lysine, valine and lysine sequence with a palmitic acid tail, originally from the Pentapharm range now owned by DSM-Firmenich. The manufacturer composition gives the INCI Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), with roughly 900 to 1300 ppm of peptide. The supplier specification sells that branded material with the certificate of analysis for each lot. It is liquid and pre-dissolved, so we list it among our peptide solutions.

When the trade name matters

Brands choose the original when Syn-Coll appears on the carton, in a retailer specification or in a marketing story built around the supplier. When the brief simply calls for a firming tripeptide, our IO Firming Peptide Liquid has the same INCI at a lower price. Many teams keep the branded grade for the hero product and the own-name grade for line extensions.

What formulators build with it

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is a staple of leave-on care that aims at firmer-looking, smoother-looking skin: day and night creams, neck creams, eye creams and multi-peptide serums. It pairs often with Matrixyl 3000 and with supporting actives such as niacinamide. Keep claims cosmetic and avoid presenting supplier study results as a guarantee.

Processing notes

The solution mixes with water and stays out of the oil phase. DSM-Firmenich allows warm processing for a limited time, but adding it at the end of the batch below 40 °C is the safer habit. Typical use is 1.0 to 3.0% of the finished formula, and the supplier reports the peptide as stable from pH 3.0 to 7.0, so most skin-friendly pH targets work. The raw material is not preserved, so close the container promptly after weighing.

Appearance and storage

Expect a clear to slightly opaque, colorless to yellowish viscous liquid with a slight odor. Store closed, cool and away from light, within the shelf life on the certificate.
