Description
A yogurt-based active for face care
NOP Organic Yogurt Plus is a liquid active made from organic yogurt for moisturizing and appearance-focused cosmetic products. It dissolves in water and is added at cool-down. The supplier specification lists serums, creams, appearance-focused cosmetic gels and moisturizers from light serums to rich night creams. The letters NOP refer to the US National Organic Program, so the yogurt base is positioned as certified organic. Check the certificate and its scope, as well as the full INCI and active content, on the documents for your lot.
Why yogurt in skin care
Yogurt is milk fermented by lactic acid bacteria. The process creates lactic acid, breaks down milk sugar and produces peptides and other small molecules. In cosmetics, yogurt ingredients are used for a soft, smooth and comfortable skin feel, a gentle glow and a friendly, food-inspired story that consumers understand right away. Fermented ingredients also fit the popular microbiome-friendly and fermented-beauty trends.
Where it works
Serums and essences
A milky essence or a light serum shows off the yogurt story well and lets the soft feel come through.
Creams for mature and dry skin
Night creams and rich day creams can carry it in the water phase as a smoothing and comforting component.
appearance-focused cosmetic gels
Gel textures for the eye area or the face give a fresh, cooling feel and suit a lightweight appearance-focused cosmetic concept.
Masks
A creamy yogurt mask is an intuitive format that most consumers recognize from home recipes, now in a stable, preserved form.
How to use it
Add the active to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until uniform. Avoid long heating, since dairy proteins and fermentation products are sensitive to heat. Check the final pH and keep it slightly acidic. Use a robust preservative system, because protein-rich ingredients support microbial growth. A small color or odor drift between lots is normal for a natural material.
Building a fermented range
Yogurt combines well with other ferments. Galactomyces ferment filtrate is a classic essence ingredient, and betaine supports a soft, hydrated feel. More skin care concentrates are listed in the actives catalog. A short, clean formula keeps the organic positioning credible.
Labeling notes
Because the base is milk-derived, the product is not vegan, and allergen statements should mention its dairy origin. If you make organic claims for the finished product, the organic share must be calculated according to the standard you follow, not only taken from this ingredient.

Why short contact with heat matters
The texture and scent of a yogurt ingredient are part of its appeal. Long heating can change both. Plan production so that the active goes in at the very end, and do not reheat finished batches for filling. If a filling line needs warm product, fill at the lowest workable temperature.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from light. Avoid repeated warming and cooling of the container.
