Description

Galactomyces ferment filtrate at a glance

Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is a liquid made by fermenting a nutrient medium with Galactomyces, a yeast-like fungus, and filtering the result. It dissolves in water and the supplier specification gives a pH of 3.0 to 6.5. The listed uses include essences and toners, facial serums, creams and emulsions, products for combination and oily skin, scalp toners, shampoos, conditioners, hair serums and professional salon care. Confirm the INCI and concentration on the certificate of analysis.

The essence ingredient

Galactomyces ferment filtrate became famous through Asian essences, where it often makes up the largest part of the formula. The filtrate contains amino acids, organic acids, vitamins and minerals from the fermentation. In skin care it is associated with a smoother, more refined-looking skin texture, a radiant complexion and a comfortable, hydrated feel. Its light texture makes it ideal as the first step after cleansing.

Formats

Essences and toners

The classic format. A high share of filtrate gives a light, watery essence.

Serums and creams

Serums and emulsions can carry the filtrate as part of the water phase.

Oily and combination skin

Light, refining toners and gels for shine-prone skin are a good fit.

Hair and scalp

Scalp toners, shampoos, conditioners and hair serums are listed in the supplier specification.

How to use it

Use the filtrate as part of the water phase and add it at cool-down. In essences it can replace much of the water. Ferment filtrates are rich in nutrients, so preservation must be robust. Keep the final pH within the supplier specification range and check odor, since ferments have a characteristic mild scent.

Partners

Ferment-based ranges combine well with other ferments and humectants. Kombucha ferment extract adds a second fermentation story, and Lactobacillus ferment lysate brings a probiotic-inspired angle. More concentrates are listed in the actives catalog.

Characteristics

Origin: fermentation with Galactomyces, filtered. Form: liquid. Solubility: water. PH: 3.0 to 6.5. Listed uses: essences, toners, serums, creams, oily-skin products, scalp toners, shampoos, conditioners, hair serums, salon care. INCI and concentration: stated on the CoA supplied with each lot.

First essence recipe, 100 g

Galactomyces ferment filtrate 80.00 g, distilled water 10.70 g, glycerin 3.00 g, butylene glycol 3.00 g, niacinamide 2.00 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.10 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 0.90 g, citric acid solution 0.30 g. Dissolve niacinamide and hyaluronate in the water, add glycerin and butylene glycol, stir in the filtrate below 40 °C, add the preservative and adjust the pH to about 5.5.

How consumers use an essence

Pour a few drops into the palm and press gently into clean skin, or apply with a cotton pad. Follow with serum and cream. Essences are used morning and evening and are often the most loved step in a layered routine.

Label communication

If you state the share of filtrate, base it on the filtrate as supplied. High-percentage claims are popular, but make sure they match the INCI order and the actual formula.

Dose guidance

The technical sheet gives the range. Essences can use a very high share, serums and creams a moderate share.

Choosing a filtrate grade

Ferment filtrates differ in concentration, preservation and odor between suppliers. Compare the color, scent and microbiological data of each lot, and keep a retained sample. A consistent filtrate gives a consistent essence, which matters for a product consumers use every day and notice when it changes.

Storage

Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from heat and light.
