Description
The acetylated form of carnosine
N-Acetyl L-Carnosine is the acetylated form of carnosine, the dipeptide made from beta-alanine and histidine. Its published INCI is Acetyl Carnosine and its CAS is 56353-15-2. The acetyl group makes the dipeptide more resistant to breakdown than plain carnosine, which is why it is used as an antioxidant dipeptide in skin care. This page is the powder, supplied for cosmetic formulation.
Not the same as plain carnosine
Plain L-Carnosine has CAS 305-84-0 and is a separate card. Carnosine in Liposomes is a ready liposomal liquid. Handle these as different materials with their own CoAs. All three appear next to our peptide powders and solutions, so check the SKU before you order.
Working with the powder
Dissolving
Weigh the powder on a calibrated balance, dissolve it completely in a small portion of the formula water before it meets the rest of the batch, and add that premix in cool-down, below 40 °C. Avoid long heating.
Level
Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot.
Compatibility
Existing notes say to keep it away from strong oxidizers and high-ionic-strength systems. Check clarity and pH after the addition, and run a stability test in your final packaging.
Product types that suit it
Antioxidant serums, day creams worn under, city-defense lotions, eye creams and light gel-creams are the usual homes. Because it dissolves in water, it fits clear serums and toners as well as emulsions.
Pairing ideas
Vitamin E, ferulic acid, niacinamide, green tea extract and other antioxidants build a broad defense story. Hydrators such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid keep the texture comfortable. Add each active separately and record the pH after each addition, because acidic antioxidants can move the pH down.

Levels follow the supplier documentation, so no gram recipe is given here. An opaque airless pump protects the antioxidants from light and air.
Claims
Keep claims cosmetic: helps protect skin from the look of environmental stress, skin looks fresher and more radiant. Do not make eye-health or other non-cosmetic claims; this is a cosmetic raw material for skin products.
Lot handling and storage
Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Keep the powder tightly closed, cool and dry, away from light and moisture.
Stability checks before scale-up
Run a small pilot batch first. Keep samples at room temperature, in a warm cabinet and in the fridge, and check color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH at set intervals over several weeks. Test the product in the final pack as well as in glass, because pumps, droppers and tubes can change how a peptide product ages. Write every observation into the batch record next to the lot number of the raw material.
Ordering
The powder is sold in gram packs for lab trials and in larger packs for production. It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $50 or more.
