Description

Lash serums are a ritual product. Customers apply a thin line along the upper lash line each evening and look for fuller-looking lashes after weeks of patience. IO Lash and Brow Serum Active Liquid is a peptide concentrate built for this routine.

What the card tells us

This ingredient is a water-soluble peptide solution. The card explains that finished serums are applied to the lash and brow line once or twice a day, depending on the composition of the product, and that visible results are usually reported after several weeks of regular use. The exact INCI, peptide content and recommended level are printed on the supplier CoA for each lot.

Designing a lash serum

Texture

The serum should be thin enough to glide from a fine brush, yet thick enough not to run into the eye. A light cellulose or acrylic gel is common.

Applicator

A felt tip or fine brush helps place the product precisely at the root of the lashes. Opaque tubes protect the formula from light.

Supporting ingredients

Panthenol for conditioning, a humectant for softness and a film-former for a subtle hold. Leave out fragrance and essential oils.

Brow products

Brows are an easy extension. A brow serum can use the same bulk with a spoolie applicator. A tinted brow gel can include the concentrate in its cooled base, provided compatibility with pigments is tested.

Formulating rules

Add the concentrate below about 40 °C into the water phase. Avoid long heating, strong oxidizers and very low pH. Use an eye-safe preservative system and arrange a safety assessment for any product intended for the eye area. For a second lash peptide in the same product, our XLash peptide listing is available, and biotinoyl tripeptide-1 is often used in brow and lash conditioning concepts. Further peptide concentrates are collected in our peptides range.

Communicating results

Customers expect visible change, so set expectations clearly. Recommend regular nightly use, describe results as longer-looking, fuller-looking and better-conditioned lashes, and base timing claims on finished-product testing. Advise users to stop if irritation appears and to remove contact lenses before application.

Building a range around it

A complete lash and brow line can share one bulk serum and differ only in applicators and packaging. Add a conditioning clear mascara and a makeup remover that is gentle on lashes to complete the routine. Shared testing data keep the development budget under control.

Hygiene and safety reminders

Lash products are applied close to the eye, so hygiene deserves attention in both manufacturing and use. Fill under clean conditions, use sealed tubes and wiper systems that limit the amount on the brush, and add clear directions on the pack: apply to clean, dry lids, avoid the inner eye, remove contact lenses first and replace the product after the period-after-opening indicated on the label. These simple steps reduce complaints and returns and show customers that the brand takes the eye area seriously.

Original recipe: night lash serum, 100 g

Purified water 87.90 g, glycerin 2.00 g, butylene glycol 2.00 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.70 g, PVP 1.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g, IO Lash and Brow Serum Active Liquid 4.00 g as an example level per CoA, sodium hyaluronate 0.10 g, eye-safe preservative 1.30 g. Disperse the cellulose in glycols, add water and stir until clear. Add PVP and panthenol, then the peptide and hyaluronate below 40 °C, and the preservative. Adjust pH to 6.0 to 6.5.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place. Fill finished serums in clean tubes with wiper systems.
