Description

A brand that sells lash serums often wants a matching hair product, because customers who care about fuller-looking lashes frequently care about fuller-looking hair as well. IO Lash and Hair Active Liquid is a peptide concentrate whose card covers both: eyelash products such as mascara and serum, and hair products such as shampoo, conditioner and serum.

Product facts

This ingredient is supplied as a water-soluble peptide solution with a pH range of 5.0 to 7.0 according to the product card. It is added to the water phase during cool-down. Its INCI, peptide content and recommended level are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot, which should be your reference for labeling.

Comparing it with its sibling

This ingredient family includes IO Lash and Brow Peptide Liquid, which has the same application list on its card. When choosing between them, compare the CoA documents: INCI, peptide content, carrier and suggested levels. Some brands use one in lash products and the other in hair products to give each line its own name.

Lash formats

Serum

The classic nightly lash-line serum in a thin gel with a fine applicator.

Conditioning mascara

The concentrate goes into the cooled mascara base after pigment dispersion, so the peptide does not see heat. Test compatibility with waxes and film-formers.

Hair formats

Scalp serum

The strongest hair format, because it stays on the scalp. A light, quick-drying serum applied to the parting suits daily use.

Shampoo and conditioner

Contact time is short, so these products support the story of the range rather than carry it alone. Combine them with a leave-on step.

Formulating guidance

Add the concentrate below about 40 °C. Keep the finished product within the pH range of 5.0 to 7.0. Use an eye-safe preservative in lash products and arrange a safety assessment. In scalp serums, a small amount of a hydrating ingredient such as panthenol helps prevent a dry, tight feeling after application. More concentrates for lash, brow and hair concepts are listed in our peptides section.

Messaging

Explain the routine clearly, describe results as fuller-looking, longer-looking and stronger-looking, and base timing statements on testing of the finished product. Keep growth language out of cosmetic claims.

Range planning

A lash serum, a scalp serum and a shampoo built around one peptide family give the customer a clear system. Use shared bulk ingredients where possible and change only the format, which lowers testing costs.

Quality checks

Record the lot number on arrival, check appearance and odor, and keep a retained sample from each delivery. A short stability run of the finished serum at room temperature and at 40 °C confirms that viscosity, clarity and pH stay within your limits.

Sensory points for scalp products

Scalp serums are used daily, often on clean hair before styling, so they must dry quickly and leave no residue on the roots. A small amount of ethanol speeds drying, while a cooling agent gives a fresh feeling that customers associate with activity. Keep fragrance light. Direct the user to part the hair in sections and apply the product with a dropper or nozzle, then massage briefly with the fingertips.

Original recipe: daily scalp serum, 100 g

Purified water 83.20 g, ethanol 8.00 g, glycerin 2.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.30 g, IO Lash and Hair Active Liquid 4.00 g as an example level per CoA, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, preservative 1.00 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.30 g. Disperse the cellulose in water and stir until clear, add glycerin and panthenol, then the peptide below 40 °C. Premix menthyl lactate in ethanol with the solubilizer and add slowly. Add preservative and adjust pH to 5.5.

Storage

Keep the concentrate closed in a cool place away from light. Reseal immediately after use.
