Description
This ingredient at a glance
IO Facial Care Active Liquid is a liquid active that dissolves in water. The card lists a broad range of uses: appearance-focused cosmetic products, facial skin care, sunscreen products, intimate cosmetics, body-contouring products, moisturizers, cleansers for deep cleansing of pores, and hair care products. It gives a working pH range from mildly acidic to neutral. The INCI and dosage for each lot are confirmed on the supplier CoA.
One active, many products
A water-soluble active that fits both skin and hair care makes range building simple. A brand can use the same hero across a face serum, a body lotion and a shampoo, which keeps the story consistent and the ingredient list short. The silk-like name also suggests smoothness, which suits the message.
Product formats
Facial care and moisturizers
Serums and moisturizers with this ingredient aim at smoother, softer-looking skin. Add it at cool-down.
Pore-cleansing cleansers
The card mentions deep cleansing of pores. A gel cleanser with mild surfactants and this ingredient supports a clear-pore look.
Body contouring products
Smoothing-look body lotions and gels are listed. Combine this ingredient with caffeine and a light, fast-absorbing base.
Sun care
In sunscreens, this ingredient is a supporting ingredient. SPF values depend on approved filters and lab testing.
Intimate care
Intimate washes need a gentle, mildly acidic base. Check the specific rules that apply to these products in each market.
Hair care
Shampoos and conditioners can carry the active for a smoother, softer feel.
Processing
Add this ingredient below 40 °C and stir until uniform. Keep the final pH within the card range. Follow the CoA for the level.
Partners
Glycerin, panthenol and mild surfactants suit most formats. Sodium PCA 50% supports moisturizers, and IO SPF Booster Oil Liquid fits sun care. Further water-soluble options are listed under cosmetic actives.
Testing
Run stability tests for each format. For cleansers, check foam and clarity; for sunscreens, run SPF tests on the final formula; for intimate products, check pH stability carefully.
Claims
Use appearance and feel wording: smoother, softer skin; clearer-looking pores; silky hair. Keep wording cosmetic, especially for intimate products.
Range planning
With so many listed uses, choose two or three products for the first launch, for example a face serum, a gel cleanser and a smoothing body lotion. Add sun care and hair care later.
Lot records
Keep the CoA of each lot with the batch file and check appearance and odor against a retained sample.

Original recipe: clear-pore gel cleanser, 100 g
Distilled water 63.80 g, sodium cocoyl glutamate 15.00 g, coco glucoside 8.00 g, glycerin 4.00 g, IO Facial Care Active Liquid 3.00 g, xanthan gum 0.70 g, panthenol 1.00 g, sodium PCA 50% 2.00 g, preservative 1.00 g, citric acid solution to target pH 1.50 g. Disperse xanthan in glycerin, add water and surfactants, then the rest, and adjust the pH.
Pricing the range
Because one active covers many products, a brand can share purchasing across the whole line and keep costs down. Buying a larger lot of this ingredient for several products can lower the cost per batch, as long as the shelf life of the raw material allows it. Check the expiry date on the CoA and plan production so the lot is used in time.
Storage
Store closed in a cool place away from light. Close the container after use.
