Description

About this ingredient

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Powder is a powder grade of Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, as our product record states. Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is the hexapeptide that brought expression-line products into the mainstream; it is modeled on a fragment of the SNAP-25 protein. This page sells the powder by the gram. The INCI, purity and recommended use level for each lot are printed on the CoA, which is the reference for your label. Other grades of the same peptide on our site include Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Powder.

Properties

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is associated with a more relaxed, smoother look in areas of repeated facial movement. It is water-soluble, forms a clear solution and is easy to combine with other peptides. Pure powder grades let a brand choose its own concentration and solvent, and they keep shipping weight low compared with ready solutions.

Applications

Our record lists face creams and serums, eye contour products for the look of crow's feet and fine lines, and face masks. Practical examples include expression-line serums, eye creams, roll-ons, sheet mask essences and wash-off cream masks. It is often paired with Pentapeptide-18 Powder for a two-peptide product. Explore more options in our peptides catalog.

How to dissolve and add it

Weigh the powder on a precise balance. Dissolve it fully in a small amount of distilled water until the mixture is clear. Add the dissolved peptide during cool-down, below 40 °C, with gentle mixing. Avoid holding the batch at high temperature afterwards. Follow the use level on the CoA and keep the finished pH mild.

Mask formats

Face masks are listed among the uses, and they deserve a note. In sheet masks the essence is thin and the peptide dissolves easily; add a humectant so the mask stays moist. In wash-off cream masks, contact time is shorter, so the mask works best as part of a routine with a leave-on serum. Hydrogel masks require a specific gelling system; follow the supplier instructions for heat-sensitive additions. Whatever the format, write a short routine on the pack, for example a mask once or twice a week followed by a daily serum with the same peptide, so the customer understands how the products work together and uses them consistently.

Compatibility

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is compatible with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide, caffeine and other peptides. It suits gels, serums and oil-in-water emulsions. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. Copper peptides are better kept in a separate product. When pairing it with caffeine in an eye product, dissolve the caffeine first in warm water and let it cool before the peptide goes in.

Characteristics

Form: powder. Peptide per our record: Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. Full INCI and purity: on the CoA. Solubility: water. Addition point: cool-down after full dissolution.

Original recipe: expression-line sheet mask essence, 100 g

Phase A: distilled water 89.95 g, glycerin 4.00 g, butylene glycol 2.00 g, xanthan gum 0.10 g. Disperse the gum in the glycols, add to the water and stir until smooth. Phase B: Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Powder 0.05 g dissolved in a little of the water, sodium hyaluronate 0.10 g predissolved, panthenol 1.00 g, allantoin 0.10 g. Phase C: PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.30 g premixed with fragrance 0.05 g, preservative 1.00 g, water 1.35 g. Adjust pH to about 6.0 and dose onto sheet masks.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Keep the powder sealed in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. Close the container right after weighing. Ships from Florida in gram packs.
