Description

Check the CoA before you write the label

Oligopeptide-1 is a name that needs care. The same INCI family is used for more than one commercial grade, and some lots are listed on the CoA as sh-Oligopeptide-1, the recombinant EGF-type peptide. This listing is a water-soluble Oligopeptide-1 solution for skin leave-ons. CAS is N/A on this page because no number has been verified for this exact grade. If your CoA names sh-Oligopeptide-1, the published CAS for that peptide is 62253-63-8, and you should use the CoA wording on your ingredient list.

Is it the same as our EGF?

Do not assume it is. Our EGF solution, SKU VV24080202, is a separate SKU with its own CoA, and the two should not be swapped in a tested product without checking both documents. If you want a short synthetic signal peptide instead, the Oligopeptide-10 and other oligopeptide powders are separate sequences again. You can compare the liquid grades in our peptide solutions.

Handling a fragile peptide

Temperature and shear

Add it in cool-down, below 40 °C, with gentle mixing, and avoid long holds at high temperature. Stir it in gently rather than homogenizing at high speed once it is in the batch.

Level and base

Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Mild, water-rich bases suit it best. Strong acid exfoliants and high free alcohol are poor partners.

Product types that suit it

Ampoules, essences, light serums, sheet-mask liquids and gel creams. Simple bases with few surfactants give the peptide a better chance of staying stable.

Pairing ideas

Sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, D-Panthenol, allantoin and ceramides. Add each active separately and check clarity, odor and viscosity after each addition instead of premixing several actives in one beaker.

Example ampoule architecture

Water, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, a chelator, a mild preservative system and Oligopeptide-1 solution at the level on the CoA. No gram recipe is given because the level depends on the lot. Fill into dark glass or airless packs.

Claims

Describe skin that looks smoother, fresher and more even. Keep claims cosmetic and tied to appearance. Any before-and-after statement needs a test on the finished product, not on the raw material.

Testing the finished product

Run a stability check on the finished product at room temperature, at 40 °C and in a fridge for several weeks, and watch color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH. Check the product in its final pack too, since pumps, droppers and jars expose it to air differently. A preservative challenge test on the final product is the standard step before launch.

Lot handling and storage

Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Follow the storage line on the CoA, which may call for cold storage, and keep the bottle closed between uses.

Ordering

It is sold as a raw material for cosmetic formulation, not as a finished consumer product. Start with a small pack for bench trials and scale once your stability checks pass. It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $50 or more.
