Description
Visible pores and shine go hand in hand for people with oily skin. IO Pore and Oily Skin Care Active Liquid is a water-soluble active whose name targets pores, and whose card lists serums, toners, essences, mattifying products and lotions for oily skin.
Product data
Water-soluble. PH range 4.0 to 6.5. Applications from the card: facial serums, creams and emulsions, toners and essences, mattifying products, body care and lotions for oily skin. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the exact INCI, composition and recommended level.
Pores and oil
Pores look larger when they are filled with oil and when the surrounding skin is rough or loses firmness. A routine that balances oil, smooths texture and keeps skin hydrated helps pores look smaller.
Product formats
Pore serum
A light, water-based serum.
Mattifying toner
A toner with a fresh, matte finish.
Essence
A watery essence for layering.
Oil-control fluid
A light emulsion for daytime.
Body lotion for oily areas
A lotion for the back and chest.
Formulating guidance
Add the active during cool-down into the water phase and keep the finished pH within the listed range. Pair it with niacinamide for oil balance, IO Pore Refining Active Liquid for a pore-focused duo and silica for a matte finish. Ingredients that pair well with this ingredient are collected under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as refined-looking pores, less shine and smoother texture. For this ingredient, support numbers with image analysis or panel tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Customers with oily and combination skin, teenagers and young adults and anyone with visible pores on the nose and cheeks.
Matte finish
Silica, starch and clays absorb oil. Add them in small amounts and check that the product does not feel dry or leave white residue.
Hydration still matters
Oily skin can still be dehydrated. Include light humectants so the skin does not overcompensate with more oil.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH, viscosity and appearance.
Packaging
Droppers for serums, bottles for toners, pumps for fluids.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
A toner, a serum and a fluid form a pore-refining routine.
Original recipe: pore-refining serum, 100 g
Purified water 83.70 g, glycerin 2.00 g, propanediol 4.00 g, IO Pore and Oily Skin Care Active Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, niacinamide 4.00 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.60 g, panthenol 0.50 g, allantoin 0.20 g, preservative 1.00 g, sodium citrate solution 1.00 g. Disperse cellulose in the glycols, add water and hydrate. Add niacinamide, the active, panthenol, allantoin and preservative below 40 °C. Adjust pH to about 5.5.
Routine guidance
Recommend a gentle cleanser morning and evening, the toner, the pore serum and a light fluid with sunscreen in the morning. Harsh scrubbing and strong alcohol can make oily skin feel irritated and look shinier later, so gentle care works better over time. Regular use for several weeks is the realistic timeframe.
Body care
The back and chest often have visible pores and oiliness. A light body lotion with the active and a matte finish fills a gap many ranges ignore.
Sun advice
Oil-free, light sunscreens pair well with the routine and encourage daily use.
Preservation
Confirm the preservative system with a challenge test.
Sensory design
Oily skin dislikes heavy films. Keep textures watery or gel-like, avoid rich butters and test the finish after one hour to confirm that shine stays under control.
Storage
Store the container closed in a cool place away from light.
