Description
Fine lines around the eyes, the lips and on the forehead are the most common appearance-focused cosmetic concern customers mention. IO Oil-Soluble Line Care Active Liquid is an oil-soluble active whose name targets exactly that, and the card is clear on handling: it goes into the oil phase, not the water.
Product data
Soluble in oils and other lipids, insoluble in water. Add to the oil phase. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the full INCI and active content.
Working in the oil phase
Add the active to the oil phase of an emulsion. If the supplier notes heat sensitivity, hold back part of the oils, blend the active into them and add the premix during cool-down. In anhydrous products, blend at room temperature or with gentle warmth. Use an antioxidant and opaque packaging.
Product formats
Anti-wrinkle cream
A day or night cream for normal to dry skin.
Eye cream
A rich, fragrance-free cream for the eye contour.
Lip contour balm
A balm for the area around the lips.
Face oil
A dry-touch oil with the active in the blend.
Formulating guidance
Pair the active with squalane oil for silkiness and bakuchiol for a gentle appearance-focused cosmetic story, and add acetyl hexapeptide-8 to the water phase of creams for an expression-line message. More ingredients are listed under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as smoother-looking skin and fewer visible fine lines. Support numbers with profilometry or panel tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Customers with expression lines, mature skin and dry areas around the eyes and lips.
Lip contour
Lines around the lips are a niche many ranges ignore. A small balm with this active, applied with a fingertip, makes a focused product.
Sensory design
Eye and lip products must feel rich but not greasy. Test spreading and absorption on the back of the hand and around the eyes.
Oxidation control
Add tocopherol, use fresh oils and keep headspace small.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light, checking color, odor and viscosity.
Packaging
Airless pumps for creams, metal-tip tubes for eye products, amber glass for oils.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
An eye cream, a lip contour balm and a night cream form a focused line for visible lines.
Original recipe: line-smoothing eye cream, 50 g
Phase A: water 33.20 g, glycerin 2.00 g, xanthan gum 0.10 g. Phase B: cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate 2.50 g, cetyl alcohol 1.00 g, shea butter 2.00 g, squalane 3.00 g, IO Oil-Soluble Line Care Active Liquid 2.00 g as an example level per CoA, tocopherol 0.20 g. Heat An and B to 70 °C, emulsify and cool. Phase C below 40 °C: acetyl hexapeptide-8 2.50 g, panthenol 0.50 g, eye-safe preservative 0.50 g, lactic acid solution 0.50 g. Adjust pH to about 5.8.
Routine guidance
Recommend the eye cream morning and evening with a gentle tapping motion, the lip balm several times a day and the night cream before bed. Explain that fine lines look smoother with regular use over weeks, not overnight. Realistic expectations lead to better reviews and repeat purchases.
Combining with water-phase actives
Because this active sits in the oil phase, it combines well with water-soluble peptides and humectants in the same emulsion. This lets one product carry two complementary stories without solubility conflicts.
Preservation
Emulsions need a preservative system that covers both phases. Confirm with a challenge test on the finished product.
Gifting
A small eye cream and lip balm duo makes a practical gift set for the holidays.
Storage
Keep the container closed in a cool place away from light and air.
