Description

A plant-derived peptide, not a lab sequence

Natural Pea Peptide comes from the pea plant rather than from peptide synthesis. It is a botanical peptide solution, closer in style to a hydrolysate than to a defined signal peptide such as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, and it suits brands that want a plant-based peptide story on the label. The INCI is Pisum Sativum (Pea) Peptide, and CAS 90082-41-0 is the botanical registry number commonly used for pea peptide grades. The full vehicle and preservative are confirmed on the CoA for each lot. It is a medium-viscosity liquid.

Which pea listing is this

We carry a second pea product, ACB Pisum Sativum Peptide, which is a separate SKU with its own CoA. If you want a defined synthetic peptide instead, classic Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Solution is a good contrast: one exact sequence, one published CAS. Natural Pea Peptide is a mixture of plant peptides, so its value is in the botanical story and the skin and hair feel. More liquid grades are in our peptide solutions.

Formulating with the solution

Phase and temperature

Add it in cool-down, below 40 °C, with gentle mixing, and avoid long holds at high temperature. It is water-compatible and blends into serums, toners, gels, conditioners and finished emulsions.

Level

Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot.

Color and odor

Botanical peptides can carry a light color and a faint natural odor. Check both in the finished product, especially in clear gels and lightly scented items.

Product types that suit it

On skin: plant-based serums, essences, day creams and sheet-mask liquids. On hair: leave-in conditioners, scalp tonics, hair mists and light hair serums where a plant peptide supports a conditioned, fuller look.

Pairing ideas

Panthenol, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed plant proteins and plant oils. Add each active separately and check clarity, odor and viscosity after each addition instead of premixing several actives in one beaker.

Claims

Keep claims to appearance and feel: skin looks smoother and hair looks fuller and feels conditioned. Keep claims cosmetic and tied to appearance. Any before-and-after statement needs a test on the finished product, not on the raw material.

Testing the finished product

Run a stability check on the finished product at room temperature, at 40 °C and in a fridge for several weeks, and watch color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH. Check the product in its final pack too, since pumps, droppers and jars expose it to air differently. A preservative challenge test on the final product is the standard step before launch.

Lot handling and storage

Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Store tightly closed, cool and away from light, and respect the shelf life on the CoA.

Ordering

It is sold as a raw material for cosmetic formulation, not as a finished consumer product. Start with a small pack for bench trials and scale once your stability checks pass. It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $35 or more.
