Description

About this ingredient

IO Firmness Care Active Liquid is an active sold as a liquid concentrate for firmness-focused skin care. Brands use it in products that aim to make skin look denser, plumper and smoother, especially on the face, neck and decolletage. Our product record describes it as water-soluble and stable across a broad pH window, which makes it easy to place in serums and creams. The full INCI and active content are printed on the CoA for every lot.

Who looks for firming care

Loss of firmness becomes noticeable from the mid-thirties, first along the jawline and neck and later around the eyes. Buyers in this group usually own several products already and want something that feels more targeted than a basic moisturizer. They look for a named active on the label, a clear texture story and realistic before-and-after expectations.

Product ideas

A concentrated night serum is the classic format. Rich neck creams, decolletage balms, firming eye fluids and overnight masks follow closely. This ingredient combines easily with signal peptides such as palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 and with humectants like Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate for an immediate plumping feel. More options sit in our peptides catalog.

How to add it

Prepare the emulsion or gel and cool it below 40 °C. Add this ingredient into the water phase with gentle stirring and avoid any later heating step. The wide pH tolerance gives freedom when pairing it with other actives, but keep the final product in a skin-friendly range and follow the CoA for the use level.

The neck and decolletage opportunity

Many people apply face cream only up to the chin, so a separate neck product is an easy range extension. A slightly richer texture, an upward-stroke application ritual printed on the box and a tube that sits next to the face cream all encourage regular use. This ingredient suits this kind of product well because it is easy to dose into thicker bases.

Claims and testing

Firmness language should describe appearance and feel: firmer-looking, plumper-looking, smoother to the touch. Instrumental measurements such as cutometry on the finished product, combined with a consumer questionnaire, give strong support. Avoid language that suggests structural appearance support or a lifting effect comparable to procedures.

Stability tips

Water-soluble actives of this type are generally comfortable with glycerin, panthenol, hyaluronic acid and many peptides. Keep strong oxidizers and high electrolyte loads away from the batch and run a standard stability program at room temperature and at 40 °C before launch.

Pairing with an eye contour product

The thin skin around the eyes is often the first place where customers notice a less firm look. A light, fragrance-free eye fluid built on the same active creates a natural companion to a face serum. Use a metal-tip applicator or a slim pump so the amount applied stays small and consistent.
