Description

A strong skin barrier keeps water in and irritants out, and it depends on both lipids and water-binding molecules. IO Moisture Barrier Complex Liquid is a water-soluble complex listed for moisturizing creams and serums, barrier care, appearance-focused cosmetic products and men's and children's cosmetics.

Product data

Water-soluble. PH range 4.5 to 6.0. Applications from the card: moisturizing creams and serums, products for supporting the skin barrier function, appearance-focused cosmetic products, and men's and children's cosmetics. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the exact INCI, composition and recommended level.

Barrier and moisture

The skin barrier is often described as bricks and mortar: cells are the bricks, lipids such as ceramides are the mortar. Water-binding molecules inside the cells keep the bricks plump. A barrier product works best when it combines lipids with humectants like an amino acid complex.

Product formats

Barrier cream

A daily cream for dry, sensitive-feeling skin.

Moisturizing serum

A light serum for layering.

appearance-focused cosmetic cream

A cream that combines hydration with firming actives.

Men's moisturizer

A light fluid for after shaving.

Children's cream

A gentle, fragrance-free cream.

Formulating guidance

Add the complex to the water phase and keep the finished pH between 4.5 and 6.0. Pair it with ceramide NP for barrier lipids, D-Panthenol for comfort and niacinamide for an even-tone message. More barrier ingredients are listed under actives.

Claims

Use cosmetic wording such as hydrated, comfortable, resilient-feeling skin and supported skin barrier. Support numbers with hydration and water-loss measurements on the finished product.

Who the products are for

Customers with dry or sensitive-feeling skin, families looking for gentle care, men who shave and people with mature skin.

Children's care

Children's products need short ingredient lists, mild preservatives, no or very low fragrance and testing under appropriate supervision.

Men's care

Men often prefer light gels and fluids that absorb fast. A barrier fluid after shaving is an easy product to adopt.

Testing

Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH, viscosity and appearance.

Packaging

Airless pumps for creams, droppers for serums, tubes for children's products.

Batch quality

Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.

Range planning

A barrier cream, a serum and a children's cream form a family-friendly line.

Original recipe: barrier support cream, 100 g

Phase A: water 66.20 g, glycerin 3.00 g, IO Moisture Barrier Complex Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, xanthan gum 0.20 g. Phase B: cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate 5.00 g, cetyl alcohol 2.00 g, shea butter 4.00 g, squalane 6.00 g, caprylic/capric triglyceride 5.00 g, ceramide NP 0.30 g. Heat An and B to 75 °C, emulsify and cool. Phase C below 40 °C: niacinamide 2.00 g, panthenol 1.50 g, preservative 1.00 g, lactic acid solution 0.80 g. Adjust pH to about 5.5.

appearance-focused cosmetic detail

Dry skin makes fine lines more visible. A well-hydrated surface looks smoother, so a moisturizing complex supports any appearance-focused cosmetic concept. Combine it with peptides and a barrier lipid in a cream for mature skin, and explain the link between hydration and smoothness in simple words on the product page.

Routine guidance

Recommend a gentle cleanser, the serum and the barrier cream morning and evening, with sunscreen in the morning. Consistency matters more than the number of steps.

Seasonal use

In winter, the barrier cream can be applied twice a day; in summer, the serum alone may be enough.

Storage

Store the container closed in a cool, dry place.
