Description

Dry hair looks dull, tangles easily and loses its spring. Curly hair, in particular, needs moisture to form defined, bouncy curls. IO Hair Moisture Active Liquid is a liquid hair care active listed for long-lasting moisture, shiny curls and easier combing.

Product data

Liquid, water-soluble, pH 5.0 to 7.0. Applications: cosmetics for long-term moisturizing of hair, balms and masks for shiny curls, shampoos for hair elasticity, and sprays for easy combing, heat protection and care of split-looking ends. Each lot ships with a supplier CoA stating the exact INCI, composition and recommended level.

Moisture and elasticity

Hair that holds moisture is more flexible and stretches before it breaks. That is why moisture and elasticity are often discussed together. Moisturizing products combine humectants that attract water with conditioning agents that slow its loss.

Product formats

Curl balm

A leave-in balm that defines curls and keeps them soft.

Moisture mask

A weekly mask for dry, coarse or curly hair.

Elasticity shampoo

A mild shampoo that leaves hair feeling supple.

Detangling spray

A leave-in spray for easy combing on wet hair, with heat protection.

Ends serum

A light serum for split-looking ends.

Formulating guidance

Add the active during cool-down into the water phase and keep the finished pH within 5.0 to 7.0. Combine with IO Conditioning Honey Derivative for humectant conditioning, hydrolyzed keratin for strength and D-Panthenol for moisture. More hair actives are listed under actives.

Curl care

Curl customers follow detailed routines and read ingredient lists carefully. Offer a full routine of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and gel, and avoid heavy waxes that build up.

Claims

Use cosmetic wording: moisturized, shiny, defined curls; easier combing; smoother-looking ends. Support claims with tests on tresses or panels.

Testing

Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH and viscosity. Test combing force on tresses if possible.

Packaging

Pumps and spray bottles for leave-ins, jars for masks and balms.

Range planning

A moisture and curl line built around one active is easy to communicate and supports a loyal customer base.

Batch quality

Record the lot number from the CoA, check appearance on arrival and keep retained samples.

Climate and humidity

Curly hair reacts strongly to humidity. In humid weather, curls can frizz; in dry weather, they can lose definition. Moisturizing leave-ins help in both cases, and a light film-forming gel can be layered on top for definition.

Split-looking ends

Ends are the oldest part of the hair and show wear first. Leave-in serums and sprays coat them, making them look smoother and feel softer. Honest communication is important: only a trim removes split ends, while care products improve how ends look and help prevent further roughness. Customers appreciate this honesty and keep using the product.

Original recipe: detangling leave-in spray, 100 g

Purified water 88.60 g, glycerin 2.00 g, IO Hair Moisture Active Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, behentrimonium chloride 0.80 g, cetearyl alcohol 0.50 g, panthenol 1.00 g, hydrolyzed keratin 0.50 g, polysorbate 20 0.80 g, argan oil 0.30 g, preservative 1.00 g, fragrance 0.30 g, citric acid solution 1.20 g. Heat water with glycerin, behentrimonium chloride and cetearyl alcohol to 75 °C, mix and cool. Below 40 °C add the active, panthenol and keratin, then oil and fragrance premixed with polysorbate 20, then preservative. Adjust pH to about 5.0.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Keep the bottle sealed, cool and away from light.
