Description

What Snail Secretion Filtrate is

Snail Secretion Filtrate is a water-soluble liquid that brands use to give essences, gels and creams a snail-based story. The supplier specification confirms that it dissolves in water and lists four application areas: appearance-focused cosmetic formulas, skin care after sun exposure, care after shaving and after epilation, and products for the look of stretch marks. The INCI and the recommended level are taken from the supplier CoA for each lot, which keeps the labeling accurate.

Why shoppers ask for it

Snail ingredients moved from Korean essences into mainstream skin care within a few years. Consumers tend to link them with a soft, cushiony feel and with skin that looks rested and smooth. For a brand, the ingredient name itself carries recognition, so even a short product description can stand on a familiar INCI.

Matching formats to the uses in the supplier specification

First-step essence

A watery essence is the classic snail format. It sinks in fast, layers under serums and creams, and lets the filtrate sit near the top of the ingredient list. Keep the base simple and let glycerin or butylene glycol provide slip.

Cooling gel after sun or shaving

After-sun and post-shave products need a light, fresh feel. A gel with aloe juice, panthenol and the filtrate delivers that sensation, and a low fragrance level keeps it friendly for freshly shaved skin.

Body cream for the look of stretch marks

On larger areas a cream gives more comfort than a gel. Use a richer oil phase with butters and keep the filtrate in the water phase of the emulsion.

Processing

Add the filtrate to the cooled water phase or into the finished emulsion below 40 °C. Stir gently and avoid long heating afterwards. Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Measure the pH of the finished product and adjust it to the range your preservative needs.

Ingredient partners

Snail filtrate works with niacinamide, panthenol, allantoin, hyaluronic acid and botanical waters. Keep strong oxidizers out of the same product. If you want a complex rather than the plain filtrate, see Snail Secretion Filtrate Complex. More water-phase options are gathered under cosmetic actives.

Characteristics

Form: liquid. Solubility: water. Uses: appearance-focused cosmetic, after-sun, after-shave and after-epilation care, products for the look of stretch marks. INCI and level: supplier CoA. Addition point: water phase, cool-down.

Original recipe: after-sun cooling gel, 100 g

Distilled water 70.60 g, aloe juice 10.00 g, glycerin 4.00 g, carbomer 0.60 g, sodium hydroxide solution to neutralize 0.60 g, Snail Secretion Filtrate 10.00 g, panthenol 2.00 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, preservative 1.00 g, fragrance 1.00 g. Disperse the carbomer in water, neutralize, then add the remaining ingredients one by one.

Planning a snail range

One raw material can support several products if each has a clear job. The essence hydrates and preps, the gel cools after sun or shaving, and the body cream covers larger areas where the look of stretch marks is the concern. Keep fragrance light in the gel, and give the cream a richer feel with shea butter or a plant oil. Snail-based lines also pair well with gentle humectants such as Natural Moisturizing Factor. Record the lot number of the filtrate on every batch sheet and keep the CoA with it, because natural materials can vary slightly in color and odor from delivery to delivery, and the CoA is your reference for each lot.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Store closed in a cool place, away from direct light and heat. Use clean tools for each withdrawal.
