Description

About this ingredient

IO Firmness Concentrate is a firming peptide sold as a ready liquid concentrate. Brands use it in products aimed at a tighter, more cohesive and smoother look, especially on the face, jawline and neck. Our product record confirms that it is water-soluble and added at cool-down. The full INCI and peptide content are printed on the CoA for each lot.

The firmness story

As skin ages, the connection between its surface layers and the layers below is often described as weakening, and the face can look less defined. Firming peptides are chosen to address this look. For customers, the message is simple: a product designed to help skin look firmer and better defined over weeks of regular use.

Where it fits

A concentrated serum used before moisturizer is the classic format. Contour creams for the jawline, neck balms, firming eye fluids and sheet mask serums follow. In a peptide cocktail, this ingredient sits well beside palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 and acetyl hexapeptide-8, each covering a different part of the appearance-focused cosmetic story. More ideas are in our peptides catalog.

Working with the solution

Cool the base below 40 °C and stir in the concentrate gently. Avoid reheating and long high-shear mixing after addition. Keep the final product in a mild pH range and protect it from strong oxidizers and high electrolyte loads. Follow the CoA for the use level.

Building a peptide cocktail

Customers who already know peptides often prefer one product with several of them rather than a shelf of single-peptide serums. A clear gel serum with three complementary peptides, a humectant and a soothing agent is a strong premium product. Describe the role of each peptide in plain words on the product page.

Application ritual

Firming products benefit from a short massage ritual: three drops warmed between the fingers, pressed onto the face and then swept upward along the jawline and neck. Printing this ritual on the box encourages consistent use, which matters for any product that delivers results over time.

Claims

Use appearance-based wording such as firmer-looking, more defined contours and smoother texture. Support claims with instrumental elasticity measurements on the finished product and with consumer questionnaires at several time points.

Neck and decolletage

Firming customers often notice changes on the neck before they do on the cheeks. A dedicated neck cream with this ingredient and a slightly richer base fills a gap in many ranges, and an upward application stroke printed on the pack makes the product feel purposeful.

Compatibility tips

Peptides of this type are generally comfortable with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, niacinamide and gentle humectants. Keep strong acids and oxidizers in separate products or separate steps of the routine, and run a full stability program on the final pack.

Day and night use

Firming serums suit both morning and evening use. In the morning, layer a moisturizer and sunscreen on top. In the evening, the serum can be followed by a richer night cream to support comfort while the skin rests.
