Description
About this ingredient
IO Eye Contour Active Liquid is a liquid active concentrate sold in milliliter packs. Our product record confirms that it is water-soluble and is added directly to the water phase during cool-down. Composition, INCI and the recommended level are stated on the CoA for each lot, and we recommend using that document for your label and for the exact claims. This page explains how to build eye products around a liquid concentrate of this kind.
What shoppers expect from eye care
Eye contour products are among the best-selling categories in skin care. Customers look for three things: a brighter look under the eyes, a smoother look of fine lines and an eye area that looks more open and rested. The skin here is thin and sensitive, so textures must be light, comfortable and free of irritants. A dedicated eye active gives the product a clear purpose and a story that sets it apart from a regular face cream.
Applications
Eye creams, transparent eye gels, roll-ons with a metal ball, hydrogel eye patches and tinted eye care are typical formats. Brands often combine an eye active with caffeine for a fresh look, with peptides such as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Powder for expression lines and with humectants such as Hyaluronic acid liquid 1%. More options are listed in our peptides catalog.
How to use it
Cool the base below 40 °C, weigh this ingredient into the batch and stir gently. Do not reheat. Keep the pH between about 5.5 and 7.0 for comfort around the eyes. Take the use level from the CoA and supplier documentation.
Safety and comfort around the eyes
Eye products deserve extra care. Choose a preservative system validated for the eye area, avoid fragrance and essential oils, and keep the ingredient list short. Test the finished product for comfort with a small panel, including contact lens wearers. Packaging matters too: tubes with a metal tip or roll-ons give a cooling touch and keep fingers out of the product.
Compatibility
Liquid eye actives are generally compatible with caffeine, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, allantoin, cucumber and cornflower extracts and peptides. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. Check clarity if you build a transparent gel.
Choosing packaging for eye care
Packaging is part of the experience in eye care. Airless pumps with a narrow nozzle dose a pea-sized amount and keep the product clean. Metal-tip tubes and roll-ons feel cool on contact, which customers enjoy in the morning. Jars are less hygienic for the delicate eye area and are better avoided. Opaque packaging protects light-sensitive partners such as some plant extracts. A small mirror-friendly size suits travel. ## Characteristics

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
