Description
D'Orientine S at a glance
D'Orientine S is a liquid active that dissolves in oils. The supplier specification lists appearance-focused cosmetic creams and serums, moisturizers and lotions, where it helps protect the skin against free radicals. The name refers to the Orient. Ingredients with this kind of name are often built on date palm seed, a traditional botanical of the Middle East, but the exact source should be confirmed on the certificate of analysis together with the full INCI, color and odor.
Why an Oriental botanical
Date palms have been part of Middle Eastern life for thousands of years. Their seeds contain lipids, phytosterols and polyphenols, and seed extracts are used in modern cosmetics for appearance-focused cosmetic and antioxidant care. An oil-soluble active from this tradition gives a brand a distinctive botanical story that differs from the usual European and Asian plants.
Formats
appearance-focused cosmetic creams and serums
Night creams and two-phase or oil-rich serums can carry the active in the oil phase.
Moisturizers and lotions
Day moisturizers and body lotions benefit from a caring, lipid-rich component.
Facial oils
A pure facial oil is an elegant way to present an oil-soluble active.
How to use it
Add D'Orientine S to the oil phase. In hot-process emulsions, keep heating time short or add the active to the oil phase as it cools. In anhydrous oils, mix it in at room temperature. Include tocopherol to protect the oil phase. Use opaque packaging for the finished product.
Partners
Antioxidant and appearance-focused cosmetic concepts combine well with stable plant oils. Camellia oil gives a light base, and FeruliShield Coconut adds a ferulic antioxidant to day care. More appearance-focused cosmetic concentrates are in the actives catalog.

Nourishing face oil recipe, 100 g
Caprylic and capric triglyceride 45.00 g, camellia oil 25.00 g, squalane 20.00 g, D'Orientine S 4.00 g, cosmetic jojoba oil 5.20 g, tocopherol 0.50 g, fragrance 0.30 g. Mix the oils at room temperature, add the active, tocopherol and fragrance, stir until uniform and fill into dark glass dropper bottles.
Add the active early in development and run stability tests on the final formula. Check that it does not cause filter crystallization.
Dose guidance
Follow the dose in the technical sheet. In facial oils the active is fully available on the skin, so stay within the recommended range. In emulsions, calculate the dose on the whole product.
Sensory notes
Oil-soluble botanical actives can bring their own scent and color. Smell and look at a test batch before deciding on fragrance. Many consumers of facial oils prefer a light natural scent over strong perfume.
Telling the botanical story
Consumers are curious about ingredients with a clear origin. A short line on the pack about the Middle Eastern tradition of the date palm, used with care and without exaggeration, makes the product memorable. Confirm the botanical source with the supplier before printing it, and keep the claim on care and antioxidant protection rather than on dramatic results.
Storage
Store tightly closed, protected from light, heat and air.
