Description

Hair care has moved from simple cleansing and conditioning to products built around active ingredients, much like skincare. IO Hair Care Complex Liquid is a liquid concentrate listed for shampoos and hair cosmetics, suited to brands that want a distinctive active name at the center of a hair line.

Product data

Liquid, water-soluble, pH 4.5 to 6.7. Applications: shampoos and hair cosmetics. The card recommends adding it directly to the water phase during cool-down and avoiding prolonged high heat. Check the INCI and active content on the supplier CoA that ships with every lot.

Where it fits

Rinse-off products such as shampoos have short contact time, while leave-on products such as scalp serums and sprays stay on the scalp and hair for hours. Using the concentrate in both types of product creates a complete routine and a consistent story.

Product formats

Shampoo

A mild shampoo for daily or frequent use.

Conditioner

A light conditioner for the lengths that keeps hair manageable.

Scalp serum

A leave-on serum applied directly to the scalp with a dropper or applicator.

Leave-in spray

A light spray for fuller-looking hair and easier styling.

Formulating guidance

Add the concentrate during cool-down below 40 °C into the water phase and keep the finished pH within 4.5 to 6.7. In shampoos, check viscosity after addition, since some actives change the salt curve. Combine with hydrolyzed keratin, D-Panthenol and biotinoyl tripeptide-1 for a complete hair story. More hair actives are listed under actives.

Claims

Use cosmetic wording: fuller-looking, stronger-looking, healthier-looking hair; a refreshed scalp. Avoid claims about growth or shedding, which are regulated in many markets.

Who buys hair actives

Customers with fine or thinning-looking hair, people after a stressful period who feel their hair looks less full, and anyone who has adopted a skincare-like routine for the scalp.

Testing

Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH, viscosity, clarity and odor. For scalp serums, test spreading and drying time.

Packaging

Dropper bottles or applicator tips for scalp serums, pumps for sprays, standard bottles for shampoos and conditioners.

Range planning

A three-step routine of shampoo, conditioner and scalp serum is the classic structure. A leave-in spray can be added for styling.

Batch quality

Record the lot number from the CoA, check appearance and odor on arrival and keep retained samples.

Usage instructions

Scalp products need clear instructions: part the hair, apply a few drops along the parting, massage gently for a minute and do not rinse. Recommend daily use for several weeks before judging results.

Scalp care as skincare

Customers now approach the scalp the way they approach facial skin, with cleansing, a targeted serum and regular care. This shift makes hair actives easier to explain: the scalp serum is presented like a face serum, used daily on clean skin. Brands can borrow familiar skincare cues such as dropper bottles, minimal ingredient lists and clear usage steps. Keep the routine short so that customers stay consistent for the weeks needed to judge results.

Original recipe: daily scalp serum, 100 g

Purified water 88.50 g, propanediol 4.00 g, IO Hair Care Complex Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, panthenol 1.50 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.30 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, polysorbate 20 1.00 g, preservative 1.00 g, citric acid solution 0.50 g. Disperse cellulose in propanediol, add water and hydrate. Premix menthyl lactate with polysorbate 20 and add. Add panthenol and the concentrate below 40 °C, then preservative. Adjust pH to about 5.5.

Storage

Store it sealed, cool and dark.
