Description
Alpantha in short
Alpantha is a liquid active for hair care. It is water-soluble and is added to the water phase at cool-down. The supplier specification lists the whole range of hair products, including shampoos, lotions, conditioners, masks and styling products, as well as products for thin and fragile-looking hair. Confirm the full INCI, active content and dose on the certificate of analysis and technical sheet.
Caring for fine hair
Fine hair lacks volume, tangles easily and breaks under mechanical stress. Consumers with fine hair want products that make strands look thicker and fuller without weighing them down. That is a different brief from repairing very damaged hair. Light textures, low oil content and actives that support a stronger, fuller look are the key tools. Alpantha is positioned for exactly that group.
Formats
Scalp lotions
A leave-on lotion applied to the scalp gives the longest contact time and is the clearest format for a hair active.
Shampoos
A volumizing shampoo with a mild surfactant system can carry the active as part of a fuller-looking hair range.
Conditioners and masks
Choose light conditioners that do not flatten fine hair. A mask can be used once a week for a more intensive routine.
Styling
Volumizing sprays and mousses benefit from a caring active, since styling products stay on the hair all day.
How to use it
Add Alpantha to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until uniform. In conditioners, add it after the emulsion has cooled. Check the final pH and keep it slightly acidic, which suits hair. Avoid heavy silicones and oils in products for fine hair.
Partners
Hair-thickening concepts often combine several actives. Biotinoyl tripeptide-1 supports a stronger-looking hair message, and caffeine is a common scalp ingredient. More hair concentrates are listed in the actives catalog.

Thickening scalp lotion recipe, 100 g
Distilled water 84.40 g, Alpantha 5.00 g, propanediol 4.00 g, glycerin 1.00 g, caffeine 1.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.80 g, menthyl lactate 0.30 g, fragrance 0.20 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 1.00 g, sodium citrate solution 1.30 g. Dissolve caffeine and panthenol in warm water and cool, add glycerin, premix menthyl lactate and fragrance with propanediol and the solubilizer, add them, then add Alpantha and the preservative below 40 °C and adjust the pH to about 5.5.
Consumer instructions
Apply the lotion to a clean, towel-dried scalp, part by part, and massage in with the fingertips. Do not rinse. Use daily for at least eight weeks, since a fuller look builds over time.
Testing
Hair density photos, tensile strength on tresses and a consumer panel on volume and fullness are suitable methods. Compare with a placebo lotion to separate the active effect from the effect of regular massage.
Dose guidance
Use the level recommended in the technical sheet. In rinse-off products use the upper part of the range, since much of the active is washed away. In leave-on lotions, the middle of the range is a good starting point.
Positioning for a fine-hair range
A complete fine-hair range might include a volumizing shampoo, a light conditioner and a leave-on scalp lotion, all with the same active. Keep the textures airy and the fragrance fresh. Communicate the benefits consumers notice first: more body, more bounce and strands that feel stronger when brushing.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from light.
