Acetyl Octapeptide-3 is the INCI name of the peptide known by the Acetyl Octapeptide-3 Solution trade name. Brands building an Acetyl Octapeptide-3 serum use this solution as the peptide phase.
Acetyl Octapeptide-3 is an extended relative of Acetyl Hexapeptide-8: the same six-amino-acid core with two more amino acids added. It is widely known under the Acetyl Octapeptide-3 Solution trade name and is used in serums for the look of expression lines on the forehead and around the eyes. This page is the INCI-named solution, CAS 868844-74-0. The full vehicle INCI is confirmed on the CoA for each lot.
We also carry Acetyl Octapeptide-3 Solution under its trade name. The hexapeptide relatives are separate SKUs: Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Solution and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 Amplified Solution carry Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. Many formulators use the octapeptide and the hexapeptide together, which is easy to do with ready liquids from our peptide solutions. Solutions differ in active content, so recalculate whenever you switch.
Add it in cool-down, below 40 °C, with gentle mixing, and avoid long holds at high temperature. It goes into water-based serums and gels, or into an emulsion after it has cooled.
Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Record the finished pH and keep it in the range given in the supplier documentation.
A clear serum or water-gel keeps the peptide on display and dries quickly under makeup. Light emulsions suit drier skin. Avoid very high alcohol or strong acid systems unless stability tests show the peptide holds up.
Forehead and frown-area serums, eye serums and eye creams, smoothing primers, and night creams.
Acetyl Octapeptide-3 combines well with Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Pentapeptide-18 and Acetyl Hexapeptide-30 for a broad expression-line story, and with a palmitoyl matrikine for a firmness story. Add each peptide separately in cool-down and check clarity after each one.
Levels follow the supplier documentation. An airless pump or a dropper bottle keeps the serum clean.
Keep claims cosmetic: expression lines look softer and skin looks smoother. Do not compare the product with injections. Trade names may need the owner's permission before they appear on a finished label.
Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Store tightly closed, cool and away from light.
Run a small pilot batch first. Keep samples at room temperature, in a warm cabinet and in the fridge, and check color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH at set intervals over several weeks. Test the product in the final pack as well as in glass, because pumps, droppers and tubes can change how a peptide product ages. Write every observation into the batch record next to the lot number of the raw material.
It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $50 or more.
