Description

What this ingredient is

IO Firming Peptide Liquid is a peptide ingredient whose active part is Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, a three-amino-acid chain attached to palmitic acid. The peptide was designed with the extracellular matrix in mind and is one of the classic collagen-themed peptides in cosmetic science. This listing is the ready liquid sold in milliliter packs: the peptide comes predissolved in a carrier, so you can weigh it straight into a cooled batch. The complete INCI, including the carrier, is stated on the CoA for each lot.

What it brings to a formula

Brands choose this ingredient when they want a firming story told through a well-documented peptide. The usual consumer language is about skin that looks smoother, plumper and more resilient over weeks of regular use. Because the palmitoyl chain improves affinity for the skin surface, the peptide suits leave-on products where it stays on the face for hours. The liquid format removes the dissolving step and makes small test batches simple.

Typical applications

Firming face serums, day and night creams, eye contour creams, neck and decolletage products and sheet mask essences are the common homes for this ingredient. It is frequently paired with Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 Powder, another collagen-themed peptide, and with humectants such as Ultra low molecular sodium hyaluronate for a fuller-looking finish. More peptide ingredients for skin and hair live in our peptides catalog.

How to add it

Finish the base first, whether it is a gel or an emulsion, and cool it below 40 °C. Weigh this ingredient into the batch and stir gently until uniform. Avoid reheating once it is in. Keep the finished pH in a mild range close to skin. Take the use level from the CoA for your lot; collagen peptides are usually used at low single-digit percentages of the supplied liquid.

Texture and sensory design

A firming serum sells partly through how it feels. Light gels made with hydroxyethylcellulose or a small amount of sodium polyacrylate give a quick, smooth slip that suits morning use. Richer night creams with squalane and shea let the brand present the same peptide in a comforting format. Matching the texture to the moment of use helps customers stay consistent, which matters for any peptide product.

Compatibility

This ingredient is compatible with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, panthenol, allantoin, plant extracts and other peptides. It works in oil-in-water emulsions and water-based gels. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. If you add vitamin C derivatives, choose stable forms and check the pH of the finished product.

Characteristics

Form: liquid peptide ingredient. Active peptide: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5. Full INCI, active content and shelf life: on the CoA. Solubility: water-compatible. Addition point: cool-down.

Original recipe: firming day cream, 100 g

Phase A: distilled water 70.30 g, glycerin 4.00 g, xanthan gum 0.20 g. Phase B: glyceryl stearate and PEG-100 stearate 4.50 g, cetearyl alcohol 2.00 g, caprylic/capric triglyceride 7.00 g, squalane 4.00 g. Heat An and B to 75 °C, combine under high shear and cool with stirring. Phase C below 40 °C: IO Firming Peptide Liquid 2.50 g, niacinamide 2.00 g dissolved in a little water, panthenol 1.00 g, tocopherol 0.50 g, preservative 1.00 g, fragrance 0.20 g, water 0.80 g. Mix until smooth and adjust pH to about 5.8.

Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.

Storage

Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool place away from direct light. Reseal after each use and avoid contamination. Ships from Florida in the liquid pack sizes listed above.
