Description
An oil-loving active on the peptide shelf
Sepilift is unusual among the products on our peptide list: the catalog describes it as a powder that is insoluble in water and alcohol. That makes it an oil-phase ingredient, the opposite of most peptides, which dissolve in water and go in at cool-down. The trade name is widely published as dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, an amino acid derivative carrying two fatty chains. Confirm the exact INCI on the CoA for your lot before you write a label. CAS is N/A on this page until it is verified for this grade.
How it differs from water-soluble peptides
Because it lives in the oil phase, Sepilift fits creams and emulsions rather than clear water serums. It can share a product with water-soluble matrikines such as Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 or Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 Liquid, which go in at the other end of the process. Other dry actives are in our peptide powders.
Formulating with it
Phase
The catalog notes it is introduced into the oil phase of an emulsion and does not dissolve in water or alcohol. Disperse it in the oil phase and follow the supplier documentation for the temperature needed to incorporate it, then check that no particles remain after the emulsion forms.
Compatibility
Check the finished emulsion for grit or crystals after a few days, a sign that the active has come out of the oil phase.
Level
Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot.
Product types that suit it
Firming-look face creams, neck and décolleté creams, body-firming lotions and rich night creams. Anhydrous balms can work too.
Pairing ideas
Water-soluble matrikine peptides added in cool-down, ceramides, squalane and shea butter. Add each active separately and check clarity, odor and viscosity after each addition instead of premixing several actives in one beaker.
Example architecture
The level comes from the CoA, so no gram recipe is shown here.
Claims
Describe skin that looks firmer, smoother and more toned with regular use. Keep claims cosmetic and tied to appearance. Any before-and-after statement needs a test on the finished product, not on the raw material.
Testing the finished product
Run a stability check on the finished product at room temperature, at 40 °C and in a fridge for several weeks, and watch color, odor, clarity, viscosity and pH. Check the product in its final pack too, since pumps, droppers and jars expose it to air differently. A preservative challenge test on the final product is the standard step before launch.
Lot handling and storage
Record appearance and pH on arrival, compare them with the CoA, and keep the CoA with your batch records so each finished batch can be traced to its lot. Store tightly closed, cool and away from light, and respect the shelf life on the CoA.
Ordering
It is sold as a raw material for cosmetic formulation, not as a finished consumer product. Start with a small pack for bench trials and scale once your stability checks pass. It ships from Florida, usually within 1 to 2 business days, in the pack sizes shown above, and US shipping is free on orders of $50 or more.
