Description
Scalp care has grown into a category of its own, borrowing serums, ampoules and concentrates from face care. IO Scalp and Skin Care Active Liquid is a water-soluble active that crosses both worlds: its card lists hair serums, scalp tonics, shampoos and ampoules, as well as facial serums and creams.
Product data
Water-soluble. PH range 4.5 to 6.5. Applications from the card: hair cosmetics, hair serums, scalp tonics, shampoos and conditioners, ampoules and concentrates, and skin cosmetics such as facial serums and creams. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the exact INCI, composition and recommended level.
Scalp as skin
The scalp is skin, with more oil glands and hair follicles than most of the face. It reacts to harsh shampoos, styling residue and stress. Scalp serums and tonics bring face-care thinking to this area: light textures, targeted actives and regular use.
Product formats
Scalp tonic
A leave-on spray used after washing.
Hair ampoule
A concentrated single-dose product for a weekly boost.
Hair serum
A light leave-in serum for the scalp and roots.
Shampoo and conditioner
Rinse-off care with the active.
Facial serum
A water-based serum for face care.
Formulating guidance
Add the active during cool-down into the water phase and keep the finished pH between 4.5 and 6.5. In scalp products, pair it with D-Panthenol and caffeine. In facial serums, combine it with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. More ingredients are listed under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording such as a comfortable, refreshed scalp, stronger-looking and fuller-looking hair, and smooth, hydrated skin. Support numbers with tests on the finished product.
Who the products are for
Customers who want a scalp routine, people with thin-looking or fine hair, and those who prefer light, water-based face care.
Ampoule format
Ampoules suggest intensity and ritual. Single-dose vials or a dropper bottle used for a four-week course create a clear routine and repeat purchases.
Scalp tonic texture
Tonics must dry quickly, leave no residue and not weigh hair down. A small amount of ethanol helps drying; keep it moderate.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C, checking pH, clarity and odor.
Packaging
Spray bottles for tonics, vials or droppers for ampoules, pump bottles for shampoos, droppers for facial serums.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
A shampoo, a tonic and an ampoule form a scalp line, while a facial serum extends the active into face care.
Routine guidance
Suggest the tonic after every wash and the ampoule once a week for a month.
Original recipe: daily scalp tonic, 100 g
Purified water 84.60 g, ethanol 6.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, IO Scalp and Skin Care Active Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, panthenol 1.00 g, caffeine 0.50 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.40 g, preservative 0.80 g, citric acid solution 0.50 g. Dissolve caffeine in warm water and cool. Dissolve menthyl lactate in ethanol with the solubilizer and add to the water with propanediol, the active, panthenol and preservative. Adjust pH to about 5.5.
Shampoo detail
Add the active after the surfactants and thickener, then confirm viscosity and clarity. Gentle surfactant systems suit scalp-focused shampoos, since harsh cleansing can leave the scalp feeling tight. A matching conditioner keeps lengths soft without weighing down the roots.
Face care detail
In facial serums, the active fits a light, water-based base with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Keep the finished pH in the listed range.
Storage
Store the container closed in a cool place away from light.
