Description
This ingredient explained
IO Rye Ferment Concentrate is a thick liquid that dissolves in water. The card lists a practical set of uses: peels, face care products, makeup removers, hand and foot creams, decorative cosmetics and shower gels. The full INCI and the level for each lot are confirmed on the supplier CoA.
Fermented grain in skin care
Ferments are a strong theme in skin care, partly because shoppers know them from foods and partly because fermentation breaks raw materials into smaller, easier-to-use parts. Rye is less common than rice or soy, which helps a brand stand out with a grain-based story that still sounds familiar.
Face care focus
Gentle peels
The card lists peels first. A peel-style product, such as a gel with a mild acid or an enzyme mask, can carry this ingredient as a supporting ingredient. Keep the main exfoliating ingredient at a level that suits home use and add the ferment for a richer story.
Makeup removers
A milky remover or a micellar-style water is another listed format. The thick liquid dissolves in the water phase, and a mild cleansing system does the removal.
Daily face care
Serums and creams for a firmer, smoother look are a natural fit for a ferment. Add the concentrate at cool-down and pair it with humectants.
Processing
Because the liquid is thick, weigh it carefully and rinse the weighing vessel with some of the batch water so nothing is left behind. Add it to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until fully dissolved. Follow the CoA for the level.
Partners
Glycerin, panthenol, sodium PCA and botanical extracts suit most formats. For a peel product, Natural AHA fruit acids or Glycolic Peel G25 25% provide the exfoliating base. Browse further ferments and actives under cosmetic actives.
Testing
Peels and removers need specific checks: pH stability for acid products, and clarity and eye comfort for removers. Run each through a warm-cabinet test for several weeks and check odor, since ferments can carry a light natural smell. Keep the CoA of each lot with the batch file.
Wording on the pack
Describe what users see and feel: smoother, fresher skin after a peel, a clean feel after makeup removal, a firmer look after weeks of use. Mentioning the rye ferment origin is a simple, honest way to make the product memorable.
Characteristics
Form: thick liquid. Solubility: water. Origin: fermented organic rye flour, per our product page. Card applications: peelings, facial care, make-up removal, hand and foot care, color cosmetics and shower gels. INCI and level: supplier CoA.
Original recipe: rye ferment smoothing serum, 100 g
Distilled water 83.60 g, glycerin 4.00 g, betaine 2.00 g, sclerotium gum 0.80 g, IO Rye Ferment Concentrate 5.00 g, panthenol 1.50 g, sodium PCA 50% 2.00 g, preservative 1.00 g, citric acid solution to target pH 0.10 g. Disperse the gum in glycerin, add water and the rest below 40 °C, mix until smooth.
Pairing face products
A peel used once or twice a week and a daily serum make a natural pair. Both can carry the rye ferment, so the routine has one clear story. A makeup remover can join later as an everyday entry product at a lower price point. When the three share one name and one look on the shelf, shoppers understand the routine quickly and are more likely to try the next step.
Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
Storage
Keep closed in a cool place away from light. Close the container right after use.
