Description
Refined pistachio oil in short
Refined pistachio oil is a light liquid carrier oil from the nuts of Pistacia vera. It mixes with oils and the fatty phase of any formula. Because it is refined, it has a lighter color and a milder scent than unrefined nut oils. The supplier CoA confirms the INCI and quality data for each lot.
Why choose a refined oil
Unrefined oils bring color, scent and character, which is great for some products and a problem for others. A refined oil keeps the product clean and neutral, so fragrance and color stay under control. For creams, lotions and massage oils, that predictability is valuable.
Product formats
Creams and lotions
The light texture of pistachio oil suits day creams and body lotions. It spreads easily and does not leave a heavy film.
Facial oils
A facial oil with pistachio oil and squalane feels silky and absorbs well. It suits normal and combination skin.
Body and massage oils
Massage oils need good slip and a mild scent. Refined pistachio oil fits both needs, and the nut origin gives a premium touch.
Hair oils
A light finishing oil for the ends of the hair can use pistachio oil as the base.
Processing
Blend it at room temperature into oil products, or add it to the oil phase of emulsions before heating. Add tocopherol to the blend.
Allergen awareness
Pistachio is a tree nut. Some shoppers avoid nut-derived ingredients, and some retailers ask for a clear note on the pack. Decide how you will communicate the nut origin before you launch.
Partners
Squalane, jojoba and Oat Seed Oil make a soft blend. Yangu Oil adds another distinctive oil for a premium facial blend. Our carrier oils catalog offers further light oils.
Shelf life
Refined oils are usually more stable than unrefined ones, but they still oxidize. Store sealed, cool and dark, and run stability tests on finished products.
Claims
Use texture and comfort wording: silky, light, non-greasy; soft, smooth skin. The pistachio name brings a gourmet, premium story.
Range ideas
A pistachio body oil, body cream and lip balm make a gourmet-themed line. Soft green packaging links the products to the nut. Pistachio-scented fragrances are popular and can complete the theme.

Original recipe: silky massage oil, 100 g
Refined pistachio oil 45.00 g, sunflower seed oil 25.00 g, caprylic/capric triglyceride 20.00 g, jojoba seed oil 8.50 g, tocopherol 0.50 g, fragrance 1.00 g. Blend everything at room temperature and fill.
Comparing nut oils
Almond, macadamia, hazelnut and pistachio oils all suit light skin care, and each brings its own story. Pistachio stands out because it is less common, which helps a product look new on the shelf. Its light feel is close to almond oil, so it can often take the same role in an existing formula. Test the swap in a small batch, compare spreading and absorption, and check that the scent of the finished product does not change. Keep notes on cost per batch too, because nut oil prices move with harvests and a backup oil in the formula file can help when supply is short.
Packaging
Clear glass shows off the light color of a refined oil, but amber glass protects it better from light. Many brands choose amber with a clear label window.
Record the lot number in your batch log so every production run can be traced back to its certificate of analysis. Retain a small sample of each lot for at least the shelf life of the finished product, since it makes later quality questions much easier to answer.
Storage
Store sealed in a cool, dark place. Close the bottle after each use.
