Yangu oil is a fat-soluble liquid oil from the seeds of the Cape chestnut tree, Calodendrum capense. The tree grows in East and Southern Africa, and yangu is the name used for it in parts of Kenya. Yangu oil 30.00 g, squalane 30.00 g, jojoba seed oil 25.00 g, oat seed oil 14.00 g, tocopherol 1.00 g. Blend at room temperature and fill into dark glass bottles.

Feel and absorption

Yangu oil has a medium-light feel and spreads easily. On its own it can feel slightly richer than squalane, so blends with lighter oils feel best on the face. In body oils, it can be used at a higher share for a nourishing, satin finish. Test the absorption time on the back of the hand and note how the skin feels after an hour. Keep notes on each blend so the final version is easy to repeat, and ask a few users to compare two versions side by side before choosing the final formula for launch.
