Description
A complex is a ready-made blend of several ingredients designed to work together. For brands, complexes save development time and give a single to feature on the pack. IO Radiance Care Active is a water-soluble complex positioned for radiance and tone-evening skincare, the category traditionally described in Asian markets as whitening and today more often as brightening.
Product data
Liquid, soluble in water. The product card does not list composition or applications. The exact INCI, components and recommended level are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot. Read it before planning a formula, since the components determine compatibility with other actives.
Product formats
Radiance serum
A clear serum combining the complex with a humectant base.
Essence
A light essence for daily use after cleansing.
Cream
A day cream with a luminous finish.
Sheet mask
A weekly mask for a quick boost of radiance.
Formulating guidance
Add the complex during cool-down into the water phase and check the finished pH. Since its components are listed on the CoA, check compatibility with partner ingredients before combining. Popular partners for radiance concepts include niacinamide and beta arbutin. A humectant base supports a smooth, light-reflecting surface. More radiance actives are under actives.
Claims and language
Use wording such as brighter-looking, more radiant and more even-looking skin. Many markets restrict the word whitening, so choose brightening or radiance for consumer copy. Support claims with standardized photos and consumer studies. Recommend daily sun protection.
Who buys radiance products
Customers who feel their skin looks dull or uneven, from young adults to mature customers. Clear, inclusive messaging reaches all skin tones.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light. Check color, odor and pH at each point.
Packaging
Opaque airless pumps protect the formula. Bright, clean design communicates radiance.
Range planning
A radiance line with an essence, a serum and a cream gives a simple three-step routine. A sheet mask can be added for promotions.
Batch quality
Record the lot number and keep retained samples. Complexes can vary slightly in color between lots; note any change.
Working with complexes
Complexes are convenient, but they also limit flexibility, since the ratio between components is fixed. If you need to adjust one component, add it separately rather than raising the whole complex. Keep notes on each formula so you can explain the role of the complex and of any additional ingredients.
Usage advice for customers
Suggest morning and evening use on clean skin, followed by moisturizer, and sunscreen in the morning. Explain that results build gradually over several weeks.
Sensory notes
Radiance products are judged partly by how the skin looks right after application. A light essence that leaves a dewy finish and a cream with a soft, satin glow help customers see a difference on day one, while the complex supports the longer-term story.
