Description
Not every brand runs a factory. Many skin care lines start in small studios and salons, where simple, reliable raw materials matter most. IO Oil-Soluble Face Care Active is an oil-soluble active listed for creams, face serums, salon cosmetics and handmade products, which makes it friendly to small-batch work.
Product data
Soluble in oil and the fatty phase. Applications from the card: creams, face serums, professional cosmetics, cosmetics for beauty salons and handmade cosmetics. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the exact INCI, composition and recommended level.
Small-batch friendly
Oil-soluble actives are often the easiest to use at home or in a studio: stir them into an oil serum, or into the melted oil phase of a cream. Good hygiene, accurate scales and written batch records are still essential, even for small runs.
Product formats
Face oil serum
An anhydrous serum for daily use.
Day cream
An emulsion with the active in the oil phase.
Salon massage cream
A cream with slip for facial treatments.
Night balm
A rich balm for dry skin.
Formulating guidance
Add the active to the oil phase. Pair it with squalane oil for silkiness, rosehip seed oil for a nourishing story and mixed tocopherols as an antioxidant. More ingredients are listed under actives.
Claims
Base claims on supplier documentation and tests of the finished product. Without data, keep wording to softness, comfort and glow.
Who the products are for
Salons, small brands, handmade producers and customers with dry or mature skin.
Salon treatments
A massage cream with good slip and an oil-soluble active fits facial treatments. A matching retail serum lets clients continue at home.
Handmade cosmetics rules
Even small producers selling to customers need safety assessments, proper labels and batch records in most markets. Check local rules before selling.
Oxidation control
Add tocopherol, use fresh oils and opaque packaging.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light, checking color, odor and texture.
Packaging
Amber glass droppers, airless pumps and jars with liners.
Batch quality
Keep the CoA for each lot and store retained samples.
Range planning
An oil serum, a day cream and a night balm form a compact line for a salon or small brand.
Original recipe: salon face oil serum, 50 g
Caprylic/capric triglyceride 18.00 g, squalane 14.00 g, rosehip seed oil 8.00 g, jojoba oil 6.00 g, IO Oil-Soluble Face Care Active 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, mixed tocopherols 0.50 g, bisabolol 0.50 g. For IO Oil-Soluble Face Care Active, mix all ingredients at room temperature until clear and fill into amber glass.
Cream detail
In a day cream, add the active to the oil phase together with a light ester and squalane. If the supplier notes heat sensitivity, mix it into a small part of the oils and add the premix below 40 °C. Test absorption so the cream sits well under makeup and sunscreen.
Sensory design
Face oil serums should absorb within a few minutes. Blend light esters with richer plant oils and test on the back of the hand at one, five and fifteen minutes.
Routine guidance
Oil serum at night, day cream in the morning followed by sunscreen. In salons, use the massage cream during facials and recommend the serum for home care.
Batch records
Write down weights, temperatures and dates for every batch, even small ones. Records make products repeatable and help trace any issue.
Gifting
A mini oil serum is a good salon retail add-on.
Labeling
Use the INCI from the CoA on the label rather than the trade name.
Storage
Keep the container closed in a cool place away from light and air.
