Description
This ingredient explained
IO Hair Peptide Powder is a powder grade of Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, as our product record states. Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 joins biotin, vitamin B7, to the tripeptide glycyl-histidyl-lysine. It is widely used in hair and lash care and is the peptide component of several hair complexes. This page sells the powder by the gram. Purity, the exact INCI and the use level for each lot are printed on the CoA. Another grade of the same peptide on our site is Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 Powder.
Properties
The peptide dissolves in water to a clear solution and is used at low levels. In hair care it is associated with the look of thicker, fuller and stronger hair; in lash and brow care with a fuller, longer-looking lash line; in nail care with nails that look and feel stronger. The biotin connection makes the story easy for customers to understand.
Applications
Our record lists shampoos, conditioners and serums for thicker-looking hair; serums, gels and oils for lashes and brows; and nail-strengthening cosmetics. Popular formats are lash serums in brush tubes, scalp tonics, leave-in sprays and nail serums with a brush applicator. It pairs well with Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 + Red Clover Extract Hair Complex in scalp and lash serums. See more ingredients in our peptides catalog.
How to dissolve and add it
Weigh the powder on a precise balance and dissolve it fully in a small amount of distilled water until clear. Add the dissolved peptide to the cooled batch below 40 °C with gentle mixing. In shampoos, add it at the end after surfactants and thickener. For oil-based lash products, use a solubilizer or a small water phase as the supplier recommends. Follow the CoA for the use level.
Nail care ideas
Nail serums are a growing niche. A simple water-based nail serum with glycerin, panthenol and the peptide can be applied with a brush to bare nails and cuticles. Alternatively, a light cuticle oil with a solubilized water phase carries the peptide in a familiar format. Keep the product fast-drying so it does not interfere with polish, and advise daily use on clean nails. For lash serums, keep the base free of fragrance and essential oils, use an eye-safe preservative and choose a brush that deposits a thin, even line. A clear routine on the pack, such as once a day in the evening on clean, dry lashes, helps customers stay consistent.
Compatibility
Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 is compatible with water, glycerin, propanediol, panthenol, caffeine, plant extracts, mild surfactants and other peptides. Avoid strong acids, strong bases, oxidizers and long heating. In emulsions, add it after the emulsion has cooled. Cationic conditioners in rinse-off products are usually compatible, but check clarity.
