Description
Hydralphatine Asia, a botanical moisture complex
Hydralphatine Asia is a clear, syrupy, yellow moisturizing complex made in France. Its INCI is Glycerin (and) Propylene Glycol (and) Sorbitol (and) Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract (and) Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract (and) Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract (and) Panthenol. It is water-soluble, works between pH 4.5 and 8.5 and is used at 1 to 6% in the finished product. The supplier specification starts at a 10 g pack.
Two halves of one ingredient
The first half is a humectant base of glycerin, propylene glycol and sorbitol, which attracts water and holds it in skin and hair for instant and longer lasting moisture. The second half brings three Asian plants: bamboo leaf and stem, a traditional source of silica, sacred lotus flower with an antioxidant and radiance story, and white water lily flower with a soothing, softening profile. Panthenol completes the blend with a smooth, cared-for feel.
The result in a product
Finished products feel more hydrated, softer and smoother, skin looks more radiant and hair looks softer and shinier. Claims should stay cosmetic and describe look and feel.
Where to use it
Moisturizers, night creams, age care products and after-sun care are the core formats. Light gels and essences can sit at 3 to 4% for a fresh, hydrating feel. On the hair side, curl creams, conditioners and leave-ins use it for moisture and shine, and body lotions benefit from the same humectant base. Add it to the water phase; the wide pH window means it rarely needs special handling.
Partners
Pair Hydralphatine Asia with betaine for extra moisture or with hyaluronic acid liquid in layered hydration serums. The DNA Gel PH active is another film-forming moisture option. Explore more moisturizing actives in our cosmetic actives section.
