Description
Hair that looks thinner than it used to is one of the most emotional beauty concerns. Customers want products that are pleasant to use every day and give a fuller-looking result over time. IO Hair and Scalp Active Liquid is a water-soluble liquid active for this segment, with a name associated in the market with Curcuma longa, the turmeric plant.
Botanical association
Turmeric is a plant from the ginger family, best known as a spice. In cosmetics, ingredients associated with it appear in hair and skin products. The exact INCI, plant part, production method and origin of this ingredient are confirmed on the supplier CoA for each lot; use that document rather than general descriptions for your label.
Specifications from the card
Liquid, water-soluble, pH 4.0 to 6.5. Applications: hair cosmetics such as serums for thinning-looking hair, scalp tonics, shampoos and conditioners, ampoules and concentrates; skin cosmetics such as facial serums, creams and emulsions, formulas for combination skin; professional salon scalp care and intensive hair care programs.
Hair product formats
Daily scalp serum
The core format. A light serum applied to the scalp every day.
Ampoules
Short, intensive programs with single-dose ampoules are popular in Europe and in salons.
Shampoo and conditioner
Supporting products that complete the routine.
Skin products
The card also lists facial serums and creams for combination skin. A light serum for shine-prone areas can extend the range beyond hair care.
Formulating guidance
Add the active during cool-down into the water phase and keep the finished pH within 4.0 to 6.5. In scalp serums, a modest amount of ethanol speeds drying. Combine with partner ingredients known in hair care such as Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 + Red Clover Extract Hair Complex and caffeine. More hair actives are listed under actives.
Claims
Use cosmetic wording: fuller-looking, thicker-looking, stronger-looking hair; a healthy-looking scalp. Base timing claims on tests of the finished product and avoid growth language.
Who buys these products
Men and women who notice a wider parting or less volume, often after life changes or stress. They want clear guidance, honest timing and products that fit daily life.
Professional channel
Salons can offer scalp programs with ampoules and in-salon massage, followed by home care. A professional size and a protocol sheet support this channel.
Testing
Run stability at room temperature and 40 °C. For hair claims, use standardized photos of the parting and consumer perception questionnaires over several weeks.
Sensory design
Scalp serums must dry quickly and leave no residue. A fresh fragrance and a precise applicator encourage daily use.
Routine and expectations
Hair follows slow cycles, so any change in how full it looks takes time. Give customers a clear routine: serum every day on a clean, dry scalp, a gentle shampoo two to four times a week and, if offered, an ampoule program at the start. Explain that a visible difference is usually judged over two to three months and suggest taking photos of the parting in the same light every few weeks. Honest guidance reduces disappointment and returns.
