Description
Not every comes with a long brochure. IO Daily Care Active Liquid is a water-soluble liquid active whose product card is short, and that makes the supplier documentation and your own testing the center of the development work.
Product data
Liquid, water-soluble. The card does not list applications or a pH range. For this ingredient, the supplier CoA of each lot confirms the exact INCI, composition and recommended level. Read the CoA before planning claims or the ingredient list.
How to approach a brief card
When information is limited, start with the documents: CoA, safety data sheet and any technical sheet from the supplier. They give the INCI, appearance, pH of the material and handling notes. Then build small test batches in a simple base and observe pH, clarity, odor and viscosity.
Product formats
Serum
A water-based serum where the active is the hero.
Gel
A light gel for oily and combination skin.
Cream
A daily cream with the active in the water phase.
Lotion
A body lotion for daily use.
Formulating guidance
Add the active during cool-down into the water phase and measure the pH afterwards. Build a reference base with glycerin and hyaluronic gel for hydration and D-Panthenol for comfort, then compare samples with and without the active. Add niacinamide if you want a tone story. More water-phase actives are listed under actives.
Claims
Base claims on the supplier documentation and on tests of the finished product. Without supporting data, keep wording to texture and feel.
Compatibility screening
Mix the active with each key ingredient at the planned levels and store the mixtures at 40 °C for two weeks. Haze, color change or precipitation are early warnings.
Testing
Run full stability at room temperature, 40 °C and under light once the screening passes.
Packaging
Pumps and airless bottles for creams, glass droppers for serums.
Batch quality
Record the lot number from the CoA, check appearance on arrival and keep retained samples.
Labeling
Use the INCI from the CoA on the label. An alone is not an ingredient name.
Range planning
Start with one serum and one cream. Expand the range once customer feedback and stability data are in.
Supplier questions
Ask the supplier for the recommended use level, compatible preservatives and any known incompatibilities. Keep their answers with the product file.
Original recipe: daily hydration gel, 100 g
Purified water 86.20 g, glycerin 4.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, IO Daily Care Active Liquid 3.00 g as an example level per CoA, panthenol 1.00 g, hydroxyethylcellulose 0.80 g, allantoin 0.20 g, preservative 1.00 g, citric acid solution 0.80 g. Disperse cellulose in the glycols, add water and hydrate. For IO Daily Care Active Liquid, add panthenol, allantoin and the active below 40 °C, then the preservative. Adjust pH to about 5.5.
Building a test plan
Plan three small batches at low, medium and high levels within the supplier's recommendation. Store each at room temperature and 40 °C, and compare pH, clarity, odor and viscosity after one, two and four weeks. Ask a small panel to compare feel and finish against a base without the active. This simple plan quickly shows which level is stable and pleasant before you invest in packaging and claims testing.
Sensory design
Keep the base simple while testing so you can see what the active itself contributes. Once the level is fixed, add sensory modifiers such as a light ester in the cream or a slip agent in the gel to reach the finish you want.
Who the products are for
A gel and a light cream with this active suit customers looking for an easy daily routine, especially those who dislike heavy textures and want products that sit well under sunscreen and makeup.
Storage
Store the container closed in cool, dark conditions.
