Description
CO2llageneer, an oil-phase firming active
CO2llageneer combines white lupine seed extract with sunflower seed oil and tocopherol, giving the INCI Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Lupinus Albus Seed Extract, Tocopherol. It is a clear, yellow liquid with a soft plant scent, produced in France and used at 1 to 3% of the finished product. Since many plant firming actives are water-soluble, an oil-soluble option opens the door to facial oils and rich creams. The smallest pack is 0.33 oz (10 mL).
What it does
The supplier describes CO2llageneer as an active that supports the skin's own collagen, the protein network that gives skin its firmness and spring. In cosmetic terms it helps skin look firmer and more elastic and makes wrinkles look less visible. Build claims in visual and sensory language.
Lupine seed and sunflower oil
White lupine, Lupinus albus, is a Mediterranean legume grown for its protein-rich seeds, and lupine seed extracts are valued in skin care for their peptides, sugars and lipids. Here the extract is carried in sunflower oil, which is rich in linoleic acid, light and quick to absorb. Tocopherol protects the oil from oxidation and adds antioxidant care of its own.
Facial oils and rich creams
In a cold-process facial oil, simply stir CO2llageneer into the carrier oils. In a hot emulsion, add it to the oil phase toward the end of heating or at cool-down to limit heat exposure. Serums, creams and lotions for firmer, smoother looking skin are the natural formats.
Partners
Pair it with bakuchiol for a plant-based age care duo and with squalane oil for a light, silky oil base. For a water-phase firming partner, add Tightenyl. More firming actives are in our cosmetic actives section.
