Description
What B-Shape is
B-Shape is a liquid concentrate for firming and contour-shaping cosmetic products. It dissolves in water and is added during cool-down. The name points to shaping: products that aim for a firmer, more toned and more defined look of the face or body contour. Take the use level from the supplier documentation for your lot. Ask for the intended application area as well, since shaping actives are offered for different zones.
The shaping concept
Shaping products focus on definition. On the face, that means the jawline and cheek contour. On the body, it means areas such as the décolleté, arms or abdomen, where consumers look for a firmer, smoother look. These products usually combine a pleasant massage texture with actives that support a toned appearance over several weeks of regular use.
Formats
Firming gels
Light gels absorb fast and can be applied with massage. They are the most common shaping format.
Contour serums
Serums for the face contour can carry the concentrate at a precise dose under a day cream.
Body creams
Creams for the décolleté and body offer more comfort for dry skin and support a firming routine.
How to use it
Add B-Shape to the water phase below 40 °C and stir until uniform. In emulsions, add it after cooling. Check the pH of the finished product and keep it in a skin-friendly range. Follow the dose from the technical sheet once you have it.
Partners
Shaping concepts often include a refreshing or warming touch. Caffeine supports a toned-looking body story, and Phytoproline adds a firming plant-and-amino-acid angle. More firming concentrates are listed in the actives catalog.

Contour firming gel recipe, 100 g
Distilled water 84.60 g, B-Shape 4.00 g, glycerin 3.00 g, propanediol 3.00 g, caffeine 1.00 g, carbomer 0.50 g, sodium hydroxide solution 1.10 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil 0.50 g, fragrance 0.10 g, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin 1.00 g, panthenol 1.00 g. Dissolve caffeine in warm water, cool, disperse the carbomer, add glycerin and panthenol, neutralize, dissolve menthyl lactate and fragrance in propanediol and solubilizer, add them, then add B-Shape and the preservative below 40 °C.
Massage makes the difference
Shaping products are used with massage. A gel that glides well for a minute before absorbing makes the routine pleasant and encourages daily use. Test slip and absorption with a small panel and adjust the thickener if the gel dries too fast.
Testing
For firming-look claims, cutometer measurements and standardized photos over eight weeks are suitable. Measure the same skin area each time and keep lighting and posture consistent.
Documentation checklist
Before launch, file the CoA, the technical sheet with the recommended dose, the full INCI for the label and any safety data the supplier provides. If the supplier gives a specific application area, align your claims with it.
Choosing the right partner texture
For the face contour, choose a light serum that layers well under day cream. For the body, a gel-cream gives both slip for massage and enough comfort for dry skin. Avoid very oily textures on the body, since they slow absorption and make daily use less likely.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from heat and light.
