Description
Apple is one of the most familiar fruits in the world and one of the easiest to communicate on a label. IO Apple Fresh Plant Juice brings that identity into a cosmetic-grade liquid. It belongs to range of fresh plant juices and extracts, prepared for use in toners, serums, creams and hair care.
What a fresh plant juice offers
Fruit juices for cosmetics are pressed from fresh plant material, filtered, standardized and preserved. They carry a mix of natural sugars, organic acids, minerals and plant compounds. In a formula they contribute a light, moisturizing character, a slightly acidic pH and a natural story. The exact INCI, solvent and specification of this grade are listed on the supplier CoA for each lot.
Specifications from the card
Liquid, soluble in water, pH 3.5 to 5.0. Added to the water phase.
Skin care uses
Toners and essences
The most natural format. A fruit-based toner refreshes the skin after cleansing and prepares it for serums.
Serums and creams
Apple juice adds a fresh, fruity note to the label and a light, smooth feel. It combines well with hydration ingredients.
Masks
Gel masks and cream masks with fruit juices fit seasonal and SPA concepts.
Body and hair care
Body gels, lotions and refreshing products benefit from the fresh identity. In hair care, the card lists shampoos, scalp toners and light conditioners. A slightly acidic fruit component also suits rinses that leave hair feeling smooth.
SPA and wellness
Fruit complexes are popular in spa menus. Apple can be combined with other fruit and plant juices in seasonal programs, wraps and body scrubs with a gentle, natural theme.
Formulating guidance
Add the juice to the water phase during cool-down. Its acidic pH will lower the pH of the finished product slightly, so measure and adjust if needed. Natural juices may have a light color and a characteristic odor; check fragrance coverage and color stability. Combine with a hydration base and, for a complete fruit concept, with IO Birch Fresh Plant Juice or an aloe ingredient such as Aloe Fresh Plant Juice. The full range of plant-based actives is in actives.
Communication
Apple is self-explanatory. Describe the product as fresh, light and fruity, and focus on how skin and hair feel: refreshed, smooth, soft. Avoid claims of exfoliation unless the finished product has been tested for that effect.
Preservation
Natural sugars in fruit juices are a food source for microbes. Use a robust broad-spectrum preservative system and verify it with a challenge test on the finished product.
Range ideas
An orchard-themed line with a toner, a body gel and a light conditioner can use apple juice as the connecting element. Packaging in green tones with simple fruit illustrations makes the concept instantly readable on a shelf.
Sensory profile
Fruit juices make thin products feel lively rather than flat. In a toner the apple juice gives a slightly fresh, clean finish, and in a body gel it pairs naturally with a light, fruity fragrance. Keep perfume levels moderate so the fruit identity reads as natural rather than candy-like. Clear packaging shows the pale color of a well-made toner, but check color stability under light first, because natural juices can deepen in tone over time.
