Description

Fresh aloe juice for formulas

Aloe Herbasol Fresh Plant Juice is a liquid aloe leaf juice from the Herbasol range by Cosmetochem. It is water-soluble and the supplier specification gives a pH of 4.0 to 5.5. The listed uses are wide: skin cosmetics, toners and essences, facial serums, creams and emulsions, skin gels and hair cosmetics including shampoos. Confirm the INCI, juice concentration and preservation on the certificate of analysis.

Why aloe remains a favorite

Aloe vera is one of the best-known plants in skin care. Its leaf gel contains polysaccharides, amino acids, minerals and other compounds, and consumers associate it with soothing, moisturizing and refreshing care, especially after sun exposure. A fresh plant juice keeps the natural character of the leaf and gives formulas a clean, recognizable botanical story.

Formats

Toners and essences

Watery toners and essences can use the juice as a major part of the water phase.

Gels

Clear aloe gels for face and body are a classic format. They are ideal for after-sun and for a light moisturizing step.

Creams and serums

In emulsions and serums, aloe juice supports a fresh, comfortable feel.

Hair care

Shampoos and conditioners use aloe as a gentle, caring botanical, and scalp gels benefit from its refreshing feel.

How to use it

Add the juice to the water phase at cool-down to keep its fresh character. In gels, it can replace part of the water. Check viscosity, since plant juices can affect some thickeners, especially carbomers sensitive to electrolytes. Keep the finished pH close to the supplier specification range. Make sure the preservative system is strong enough for a botanical-rich water phase.

Partners

Aloe works well with other soothing and hydrating ingredients. Biosaccharide gum-1 powder adds a soothing film, and the Mango Herbasol fresh plant juice gives a second fruit story to the same range. More plant-based concentrates are listed in the actives catalog.

Characteristics

Source: fresh aloe leaves. Form: liquid juice. Solubility: water. PH: 4.0 to 5.5. Listed uses: skin cosmetics, toners and essences, facial serums, creams and emulsions, skin gels, hair cosmetics, shampoos. INCI and concentration: stated on the CoA supplied with each lot.

After-sun aloe gel recipe, 100 g

Distilled water 47.80 g, Aloe Herbasol Fresh Plant Juice 40.00 g, glycerin 4.00 g, sclerotium gum 1.00 g, xanthan gum 0.30 g, panthenol 2.00 g, allantoin 0.20 g, menthyl lactate 0.20 g, propanediol 2.50 g, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate blend 1.00 g, citric acid solution 1.00 g. Disperse the gums in glycerin and add them to the water, stir until hydrated, add aloe juice, panthenol and allantoin, dissolve menthyl lactate in propanediol and add it with the preservative and adjust the pH to about 5.

Label communication

Consumers often look for the share of aloe in a product. If you state a percentage, base it on the juice as supplied and keep the claim consistent with the INCI order. Avoid suggesting that the product is pure aloe if the juice is only part of the formula.

Color and odor

Fresh plant juices can vary slightly in color and odor between harvests. A pale yellow tint and a mild green note are normal. Keep a retained sample of each lot and compare new lots against it before use.

Dose guidance

The technical sheet gives the recommended range. In gels and toners the juice can make up a large share of the water phase, while in creams a smaller share is enough to support the label story. Higher plant juice content means more natural nutrients in the water phase, so re-check preservation whenever you raise the dose.

Storage

Store tightly closed in a cool place, away from light. Follow the use-by date on the label.
